A favourite place

Its beach location is a winner and in bad weather the sea and sky can be amazing when viewed from the inside shelter of the cafe. Their fish pie is the best I have ever had when eating out, and their fish'n chips ever tasty and reliable. The cafe is always full of families with children, straight... read more

My 12 year old grandson and I visited the Venus Cave at Blackpool Sands last Sunday, he had his usual of fish and chips which he rates highly and which looked very good. I wanted a healthier option so chose the crab sandwich. What a disappointment! Dry bread, but worse, the crab was full of bits of shell. I should... More

The location is great and the quality and sourcing of the ingredients is much hyped. Ordering is confusing and the meals themselves are not much better than average. Still worth a visit on an April day. Wouldn't want to be there in mid summer!

This cafe has a eat in and take away counter. Some of the ingredients used are organic and they are very good. They sell homemade lemonade, drinks, yummy ice creams and hot food. There can be a long wait at the take away counter. Staff also serve in the outside seating area (picnic benches) which are ideal for families. Lunch... More

The Venus cafe is situated on Blackpool Sands and is a wonderful place to stop for lunch. I had the seafood chowder which was lovely. It's a bit confusing when you enter and the staff could do a little more to explain the ordering process (several customers including myself were a tad confused). It was also a pity the WiFi... Met a friend here for lunch today, have to say the venue was a lot better than the food. I ordered sea food ragout, nicely presented but mainly potato and tinned tomatoes. My friend ordered chicken and ham pie which she said was disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful however. The menu is small but for a Monday lunchtime... More

This cafe is in a stunning location on the beach. Amazing on a sunny day (even in Winter). We've only ever had brunch there and the food was good and service was average. I think the staff could be a bit more welcoming. The outside seating is family friendly, free car park. Would be interested to try out the food... More

Very nice Valentines meal with a pink fizz on arrival, then scallops (tender with crispy bacon) a medium rare sirloin (just right) with tasty portobello mushroom and the only disappointing item, fries (no alternative unfortunately.- they are best confined to McDonalds in my view). Finished with a slice of scrummy salted caramel pie and a Baileys creme brûlée which we... More

We've eaten at the Venus cafe/restaurant many times- more than 30. I can honestly say it has always been worth it as we drive down from Surrey-a four drive. However, we just had dinner there Valentines night and the food wasn't at all memorable. It was quite a lovely atmosphere with the lights and hearts placed all around but bottom... More

Visited Blackpool Sands in February and was recommended to eat at the Venus Cafe. We had a fabulous lunch there, the food was freshly cooked and very reasonabely priced. Really enjoyed the roaring log birner and fabulous views from the Venus. We would definetly visit this fab this cafe again.
