Stylish time-honoured family fusion restaurant combines a bland of Indonesian, Southeast Asian influences, classic Russian and Australia's strong ties with Japan are reflected. It's a great chill out place for having a round of boutique cocktails to celebrate a special occasion. You'll be sure to be welcomed with a smile at Simple.

Food was OK, atmosphere was OK, experience was just OK

We ate here on our first night, the restaurant is owned by a Russian lady, the menu offers a mix of Balinese and European with Russian dishes for good measure. We could not really complain about the food or service but nothing was outstanding.

They have a huge menu like a phone book! They served everything over the world. Before I ordered I already expected the food won't be good because they are not specialized in one type of food. What they delivered was exactly what I expected. We have ordered a seafood platter and one Balinese pork ribs. The seafood platter was overpriced... More

Good food, prices a bit more than other places. Food was well presented, hot and flavourful. We had Sate Capur, chicken with cashews and antipasto pizza. We were the only ones here at lunch and the service was prompt and unobtrusive. Our sons enjoyed looking at the civet cats here too.

When we arrived we waited for menus and drinks for 15 plus minutes even though the place was empty. Meals where bought out 10 minutes apart so you had to eat alone and food was warm not hot.

I think this restaurant is only in business because of the dearth of other options in the area. We went and were greeted with a lackluster welcome, the menus shoved onto our table and it was obvious that the staff weren't there to help. She ordered the seafood hot pot, which was terribly underseasoned. I added some salt and pepper... More

Staying at the hotel opposite, we decided to head to Heart of Bali for a meal. Good food, plenty of choices and very reasonable. Nice atmosphere too. Only criticism was the service...mains came and starter plates had not been collected so we had a table full of empty plates and it was generally hard to get any of the waiter's... More

We had to flag down a waiter to be seated and to get anything ordered. The food was of average quality, and I could see they were trying to do better, but it seems to cater to the Russian crowd. What does this mean? Well, they do not have much money in general and are rude, so the locals on... More

We found confusion around the name - the numbers on Jalan Pratama are inconsistent and don't seem sequential in places, so it's hard to tell if this is The Heart of Bali, as the sign outside says. Located right across the road from the entrance to the Conrad Bali Hotel, so easy to find. Nice garden setting with great lighting... More

I ordered omelet and coffee. The coffee did not so good and was cold and the omelet was average. I was the only customer. May be it is not peak time. The prices over rated.
