We visited Le Faitout last week with two other couples while on holiday in the Languedoc. Berlou is a pretty village and the restaurant is in a lovely setting . The food was excellent and was far better than some Michelin star restaurants we have visited in the past. The owner/ chef was charming and obviously enjoyed preparing the food.... More

Le Faitout was a charming experience from the pleasant terrace setting, in a peaceful valley. The service by the delightful owners and chef who produces tasty local produce led dishes, which are interestingly and creatively presented, making for an all round enjoyable meal. We will happily return.

We discovered Le Faitout with Frederic & Nathalie last year. We had numerous visits with friends and clients and every time the experience was superb. Our first visit for this year was last week and we had a lovely sunny day, sat outside, beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and great local wine. Definitely choose their signature menu, €29 and well worth... More

I run a Wine and Food school in the Languedoc and took 10 clients to Le Faitout for lunch on Sunday. Natalie and Frederic were superb, from the first contact in January through to our au revoir yesterday, the service was exactly on the ball. An excellent menu with great wine choice in a stunning setting. The food was fresh,... More

After a wonderful morning exploring the St Chinian area, we took the time to take the winding country road to the pretty village of Berlou, first tasting wine in the village Cave, and then following a recommendation to try the local restaurant. Everything about the restaurant was a surprise and delight - superb food (we had the €28 menu, which... More

The location of this restaurant is special: it is located in an tiny village in a green valley in the Saint-Chinian wine region. A very nice terrace overlooking a green valley and with a view on the shop of the local wine cooperative. In short, the setting for a great romantic lunch. We came here for the second time, and... We go to France every year and love it...but the food is frequently a disappointment. Our meal at the Faitout was easily the best meal we had this year. The day before we ate here we had a meal in a Michelin starred restaurant in Gignac. The food at Le Faitout was much superior. The patron comes among his customers to... More

Nowhere else than in france you can find such an innovative tasting restaurant in a 200 habitant village. At the end of the road in the middle of the wine area you have one of the best surprise you can expect. Food very well cooked beautiful plate and a nice atmosphere.

This little gem of a restaurant, tucked away in the hamlet of Berlou, is well worth a visit. There is a set lunch menu which is cheap and excellent, and in the evening the a la carte menu is exciting. We had the 6 course menu with a different wine presented for each course. A gastronomic delight. We'll be back!

This restaurant is in a delightful setting and is charming both inside and out. The food is imaginative and makes the widest use of local and unusual ingredients. I did not know Begonia flowers were edible and had never eaten Purslane! We took a party of nine and all were entranced by the setting and, more importantly, the food. We... More
