Nice beach bar and restaurant

A nice bar and restaurant with decent food at reasonable prices. They often have entertainment with a local troubadour and are you lucky will the staff sing and dance for you.

We had a very enjoyable Saturday night Fish Barbeque sitting on the beach and watching the sunset. The music of Jake Nuanga, the guy who welcome every international flight at Rarotonga Airport, added background atmosphere. Fish and salads were fresh and very tasty. Would describe everything as authentic Cook Island Style, not five star hotel fine dining. Cost us NZD$105... More

Having visited the Shipwreck Hut on our last visit to Rarotonga and reading the the ownership had changed we where interested to see if anything had changed. Most things where the same, good food, good food, great intertainment and the atmosphere great. The new owners Steve and Geraldine have even made this little gem even better. Thanks for a few... The Shipwreck Hut is a great place to stop for nice beverage to enjoy and relax with on a beautiful afternoon. The nautical-themed beach-side bar is basically just a little bar up on the beach with about two dozen bar stools/chairs up against a narrow bar table that faces the beach. The business is a cool; the locale is cool;... More

Having visited here before while on holiday it is a place I return to for the best relaxing atmosphere around. New owners Steve and Geraldine have embraced the uniqueness of this place and not changed a thing. Recommended to all who enjoy a fun friendly beach side Spot to relax and have a few cocktails, good food and great staff... More

Having read that the Shipwreck Hut had made the list of the top 10 beach bars in the world, we just had to check this place out. I'm glad we did - the Shipwreck Hut is bursting with character and atmosphere. Just sitting at one of the tables with your feet in the sand and a view of the glorious... More

Local friends first introduced us to Aroa Beach Inn for a sunset drink, sadly no sunset that night, however, we returned again during our stay for another drink and dinner. Great aspect, good food and friendly service. The villa accommodation looks good too so may look at staying here next time we come to Rarotonga.

The Shipwreck Hut is the sort of place you dream of one day retiring to - a fantastic little bar right on the beach with perfect sunset views. Great staff, friendly guests, lovely bar food and delicious cocktails. On BBQ nights, they served a smoked marlin starter. It was the best thing I've ever tasted. If I could choose one... More

Apparently ranked 3rd in some CNN poll for best sunset bar. This place did not disappoint. Lovely bar right on the beach with a direct view of the setting sun. Great beer. Excellent food. Highly recommend.

We have been here several times, and it is still one of my favourite beach bars. This year we visited for cocktails one night, and for the BBQ on Saturday night. Sadly the weather was not as good as previous years, and we did not get to see the stunning sunsets we have seen in the past. The BBQ night... More
