We hadn't booked but not being busy were welcomed warmly then it went down hill, orders were taken in a somewhat casual way three of us had different fish dishes and I also ordered and entre. About an hour later our mains arrived but no entre questioned the waitress and within five minutes the entre arrived, Three deepfried scollops with... More

The Anchorage is so much better that a year ago. The food has always been great, but last year the staff was not so nice. This year they are very attentive and gracious. Especially Violet. The change in management is noticed and welcomed.

The service was the best we had, very attentive. And the food was amazing. I had the seafood marinara and my partner had the baked fish- which was the best meal we had all week. We ate here again for dinner with the rest of our party and they loved it too. The other people around us were also raving... More

After our disaster at the Sands restaurant we thought to try this restaurant a couple of days later for my birthday. We weren't disappointed despite the terrible weather. The food would have to be the best I have eaten anywhere (including Auckland). I would class this as fine dining and the subtlety of flavours in our seafood chowder was hard... More

We stayed at Sunset Resort for our wedding anniversary and ate dinner twice at The Anchorage Restaurant. The chef Tony has created a new menu and everything we tried was delicious especially the grilled tuna - best tuna I have ever eaten. We definitely recommend the coconut bread & butter pudding as well it was fantastic! It was the most... More

I don't know if I was comparing this to Edgewater's food but I thought this place was great. I had a couple of meals at Anchorage and they never let me down on service and cuisine. Dawn (manager I am guessing) was streaks ahead of a lot of other places for her service and chattiness.

Came here for dinner on Thu Mar 27..... Waitress wasn't overly friendly but passable service wise. Had the Chicken Boisciana which was like a carbonara and ended up having a chocolate cake for dessert. Place seemed relatively empty for a resort.

Vi our waitress was so helpful and truly genuine. Nice to see her smiling every morning. She was giving us special advice as to places to go & see. My husband commented that the food in Anchorage was the best in the island. The chef made fish (yellowtail of some sort) as if he knew all different ways to make... More

I ate here for lunch one day and the place was almost deserted. I really enjoyed the seared tuna salad and the local Matutu lager has a real beer flavour - delicious to wash the food down on a warm day! Being almost the only one there, service was excellent and friendly in the usual island manner.
