We visited the ship in last weekend as a family booking of ten. Was lovely and cosy, and the guy seating us couldn't do more to accommodate us. The menu had some different choices, and also traditional scottish food. The starters were very promising, however we were really let down by the main courses. One of our party had turkey... More

It was so cold in the restaurant we had to eat with our coats on whilst sitting in the room behind the main bar. We have frequented this place often but found the food disappointing on this trip, less choice than before. Staff should let the guests sit down before asking what drinks they would like.

We ate here twice during our recent Scottish holiday, once at lunchtime and as our last night treat. On both occasions the welcome was as warm as the lovely open fire in the bar and the food was well cooked, plentiful and served with a smile. The sandwiches we had at our lunchtime visit were huge and packed with filling.... More

Had a delicious mid-week meal. Being November, the place wasn't busy, but there ere enough people there to create a good atmosphere. There was a good choice of food and it was tasty. Will return.

Came for the first time last night with my family and had one of the best meals out in the East Neuk! The menu was simple but elegant, which catered for all tastes in our group. The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. We couldn't have had a more pleasant evening and will certainly be back. The only fly in... More

Place looks the same, which is a good thing, having frequented the place for over 30 years but..... I hate to say, the attitude of the new management and the menu wereso disappointing Pay attention!, it's what made the place so good in the first place.

This is a well known haunt for visitors and locals alike. Its very busy in the summer season, the staff deliver good service and food for a fair price. I prefer the off season, sitting in the atmospheric bar with a nice fire lit and the sea battering the beach which is just outside. Recommended.

We celebrated a family birthday milestone here, with 12 of us in total ranging from 4 to 70. The waitress was lovely, she accommodated a few special requests such as the youngest two having their meals brought out with the starters. My niece doesn't like mushroom and being a vegetarian this was the option on the evening however the chef... More

Just back from lunch both had ham hock terrine with something on the top like a stick, hock was ok but the stick thing was so hard a dog would not have been able to chew it. Main course was confit of duck for my wife which composed of a leg of duck and some watery mash potatoes served on... More

Brought 3 of my friend's up to Elie for September weekend, had raved about The Ship Inn, the food, the views, the staff.... I must admit I felt quite let down, especially for them. I have been coming to Elie for the last 8 years and have always enjoyed coming to the Ship but this wasn't the experience I was... More
