Maybe we were just unlucky! It is a few years since I visited this pub and the food, service and ambience at that time were excellent. This visit we arrived in the afternoon and were advised no food was being served at that time, although I had called earlier to see if a booking was required and was told just... More

The Ship Inn is in a great location on the waterfront and the beer garden overlooking the beach is certainly it's best feature. It's an ideal area to enjoy a drink with friends and you can also easily keep an eye on the children playing on the beach. The food is good value and you get what you expect, but... More

The Ship Inn benefits from a fantastic location overlooking the little harbour and wide sandy beach of this lovely seaside town. There is an outdoor area for drinking which is much used by families though we prefer the atmosphere of the pub. The beer is never good so resorted to a Bloody Mary which lacked a professional's touch. No celery... More

This hotel/bar/restaurant is in a great location, right on the beachfront at Elie - but sadly, that is its only redeeming feature. Surly staff, bad service, less than average food and tired and shabby inside, this was a complete let down. Another case of that arrogant attitude found so often in places with fantastic locations, the site is enough in... More

An excellent. Both staff and locals made our English party very welcome. Good beer. Had the best laugh of my trip to Scotland here. Eddie, a local, is a very funny man. Worth talking to him alone. He made my day.

It's one of these quandaries, do I write a review or keep it myself? Decided to write! Took family with us, 11in all including kids. Lovely food, very helpful service and fantastic location.

Went here for a family meal to celebrate the parents 60th anniversary. Quite a large party to deal with and they coped fantastically. The food was great and the location is just outstanding. The beer garden overlooks the beach, so can enjoy a great view with a cold pint.

When the sun is shining and you want a bar lunch sitting overlooking a lovely beach, this is the place to come. We have eaten here a couple of times and the food is fine, just don't expect too much, just enjoy the ambience.

Went for last lunch of the holidays, expecting good food for the price £11 for Steak and Guiness pie for both of us, one puff pastry was risen the other flat, hardly any chips, and veg was rock solid. For that amount of money I would have expected good food and at the very least enough to satisfy. Livining on... More
