Wonderful bar food, service was exceptional with both bar and serving staff being very welcoming. We had dogs with us and they gave them biscuits and a warm welcome. We will go back because service like this is not something you see every day.nthe fish cakes were delicious..

We have been visiting the Ship for many years - whilst it has always been expensive for the area the location and experience have been worth it - not any more. We had a very mediocre meal - the fish and chips were poor - an average portion but not generous, and the chips were dry and tasteless - and... More

Whilst the food was excellent (fish and chips and haddock crepe), since our last visit there doesn't seem to have been much redecoration. The coal fire was lovely, but the place needs a good clean (especially the toilets) and redecoration. I think £19.60 for two pints of Guinness and two pints of Peroni is far more than other bars in... More

Nice atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. We visit here when in Elie, the children especially like their menu. Lots of local information/history to see on every wall. However can get very busy.

Went here for a bite to eat while visiting Elie with friends and had a great time. The seafront location is beautiful, looking across the bay and the inside of the pub is traditional olde worldy look and feel with low ceilings and wooden beams. The food was very good and the menu is a mix of traditional pub grub... More

Visited this small pub restaurant in Elie recently with family, including two small grandchildren! Really enjoyed our visit and really must compliment the staff on their attentive and helpful service. The menu was wide and varied, with plenty of selection for everyone, including two small grandchildren - of one and two years old. We were seated in a lovely front... More

Phoned at 5.45 and asked for reservation. Was told fully booked but if we could get there by 6pm they would fit us in. Food was well worth the rush to get there. Fish and chips was piping hot and fresh. Plenty of chips, tartare sauce and ketchup.

We frequent the ship regularly and have felt recently that is looking a tad tired and unloved. On this occasion the toilets let a lot to be desired....litter scattered all around the floor. The olde worldly look is looking more shabby than chic! The staff choose their own opening times.....on our previous visit the ship was closed before 9pm on... More

When staying at Kilconquhar Estate, my family and I always head to Elie for a drink and some food in the Ship Inn. Visited again last night and was as good as ever. Steak pie is delicious and they always have some tasty specials to offer. Would recommend!

very friendly staff, especially welcoming after being in some pubs where it is obvious they do not talk to outsiders, and on a sunny day great to sit outside overlooking the beach.
