This is one of those places that my family will rate as one of the best meals of our trip to Edinburgh and London. It's not because of the exquisite gourmet food or gorgeous views, but it felt like our most authentic find. We saw The Ship Inn during a walk around the town and decided to give it a... More

I visited the ship inn with my kids for lunch. It was outstanding. I could not fault the service, food or venue. Well worth a visit. The location is also fantastic. It's right on the beachfront. The Kids could run on the beach after lunch while we sat and watched from pub garden.

We have been visiting the ship inn from its prior owner to its current owner this spans some 35 years The service for our food at lunch today was wonderful . My grandkids (6 and 4) were treated superbly. Great kids menu. The house wine is always great The fish and chips is some of the best we've ever had.... More

We were on a car rally in Fife and we stopped in The Ship Inn for a bite of lunch. It was great.A lovely pint of Deuchars followed by a brilliant Beef Sandwich. It was very busy but the service was quick and the staff were very pleasant. The fish and chips looked lovely but we were pushed for time so we didn't... Was intending to have a birthday lunch here with my wife and young child but after being charged £5.20!! for two cans of irn bru we decided against it. The barman's customer service style is "what are you doing in my bar?". There was no welcome at all, I placed my order, he gave me the drinks, I gave him... More

The Ship Inn is fairly well known as a decent place for pub food. It sits on the waterfront at Elie in the East Neuk of Fife. Walking in it reminds you more of an English pub than a Scottish one. Tankards hanging up, cosy bar with open fire, pull pumps etc. We went in for lunch. Quiet day with... More

We were a party of four visiting The Ship Inn for an evening meal. We arrived early before the other couple but the barman immediately took us to our table where another member of staff was lighting the fire ready for our arrival. Orders for drinks were taken and we were also offered water to go with the meal. A... More

Quiet Saturday night meal by the fire which was very enjoyable. I had rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection and my partner had whole sea bass which she picked clean. Staff were very attentive, all in all a great meal. Great blasts of cold air when folks come and go though!

What a fun place! Perfect pub food, friendly service and old fashioned inn atmosphere. We ordered appetizers, scarfed them down and wished we had more room for even more because they were delicious. A grand time was has by six of us!
