Visited this small pub restaurant in Elie recently with family, including two small grandchildren! Really enjoyed our visit and really must compliment the staff on their attentive and helpful service. The menu was wide and varied, with plenty of selection for everyone, including two small grandchildren - of one and two years old. We were seated in a lovely front... More

Phoned at 5.45 and asked for reservation. Was told fully booked but if we could get there by 6pm they would fit us in. Food was well worth the rush to get there. Fish and chips was piping hot and fresh. Plenty of chips, tartare sauce and ketchup.

We frequent the ship regularly and have felt recently that is looking a tad tired and unloved. On this occasion the toilets let a lot to be desired....litter scattered all around the floor. The olde worldly look is looking more shabby than chic! The staff choose their own opening times.....on our previous visit the ship was closed before 9pm on... More

When staying at Kilconquhar Estate, my family and I always head to Elie for a drink and some food in the Ship Inn. Visited again last night and was as good as ever. Steak pie is delicious and they always have some tasty specials to offer. Would recommend!

very friendly staff, especially welcoming after being in some pubs where it is obvious they do not talk to outsiders, and on a sunny day great to sit outside overlooking the beach.

Through recommendation on places to eat in fife, we heading with inticipation to sample the food at the Ship Inn . To start with the interior was to say the least disappointing, it did not reflect the stunning coastal town of Elie . It was tired and in desperate need to some money and injection of some TLC. The staff... More

Other reviewers agree the view and location of The Ship Inn is stunning but how long can they trade on the view alone? We had heard great things about the ship inn and it was our first port of call at the start of our Elie holiday. Fish and chips and steak pie were ok but the goats cheese 'tart'... More

Having eaten at The Ship Inn on a number of visits to Elie over the years, we were looking forward to some good meals. We were sadly disappointed. In two visits, we felt that the personal touch had gone and the microwave had taken over! The fish in the fish and chips was small and over-battered, the fish pie was... More

We stumbled across this pub and I am amazed by some of the reviews on here. We had the seafood platter, which was beautiful (roll mops best ive ever had) between 2 adults, was billed as a starter but we had as a main and was more than enough and our older children had fish and chips which was also... Well we had been to this pub numerous times for drinks and it's good as a pub and whilst the food is fairly average, there is nothing bad about it at all. It's got a good range of meals from Fish down to beef or lamb so it's not like you're struggling for choice unlike other restaurants or pubs in... More
