Visited the Whitehorse for the first time last Friday for my works night out. We were under the impression that it was a bring a party to a party night but there was only 1 other table there which was disappointing as the atmosphere was a bit lacking when we first arrived. The starter and main course were fantastic, I... More

Went for lunch today after the re-opening yesterday. I had the chicken fillets and chips. I pulled out 2 hairs from my chicken fillets and mentioned it to the waiter. The manager came back and she accused me of lying in a restaurant full of people "if there were hairs in your chicken they would of burned off when they... More

Used to occasionally have Sunday lunch at the White Horse, a considerable number of years ago, after a morning walk along Balmedie beach and decided to visit again this afternoon. The décor is a bit tired, but I believe the restaurant is soon to have a facelift. The lunch menu is fairly extensive and I decided to start with the... More

My friend and I elected to go for the 'carvery'. What that meant was that our plates of food were delivered to us, pre-selected with items. Unfortunately the turkey was lukewarm, and we had to send it back. Second time around was fine. I would class it as an average meal.

Decided to treat the hubby to lunch after his work this morning. Arrived at the restaurant very dull and dismill but sat down anyway. Table very sticky and waitress brought our menu obly to find the paper absolutely covered in spillages. Order placed hubby had Cullen Skink soup not worth the £6.50 lots of tatties not much fish. I ordered... More

A friend and I went here for lunch hoping to have a nice meal... The waitress took our order and then came back and told us that they didn't have what we wanted which we wish she had known before and had told us when we sat down. We ordered another starter or haggis and black pudding fritters which was... More

My wife and I had been to Mill of Mundurno not far from Balmedie on our way home. After waiting in a largely empty restaurant for 45 minutes and no food and surly service we left and came here. The food was excellent, the young lady waiting table was cheerful and very helpful (my wife is coeliac) and our experience... More

We have just moved to the area and were pleasantly surprised by the meal we had here on moving day. I had steak with wild mushrooms which was really excellent and my husband had the steak pie - usual pub thing of separately cooked filling and top but he enjoyed it. The cheesecake pudding tasted home made and was very... More
