Description: The Grand Marlin Restaurant features a main dining area with a shucked to order oyster bar, exterior North Drop Bar overlooking the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound, and private meeting rooms. This Pensacola Beach restaurant, with an air of island casualness, serves the highest-quality cuisine, including the freshest local seafood featured on menus designed and printed daily to take advantage of the local bounty. The atmosphere creates a fusion of the Caribbean and the Pensacola Bay Area. Executive Chef Gregg McCarthy has a passion for great-tasting food and particularly loves working his culinary magic with fresh Gulf Coast seafood. Boaters and beach-goers feel comfortable in shorts and flip-flops at the oyster bar, in the dining room and at the North Drop Bar. The Grand Marlin has a space and atmosphere for all occasions and is looking forward to creating an authentic experience between time and tide.

This was recommended to us by a local as being the least touristy restaurant on Pensacola Beach. She was right. Food was excellent and the best meal we had all week. Nice, elegant atmosphere. Pricey but worth it. Will return on my next visit.

Very good food, ate here on a Sunday afternoon. Only things I didn't like was they had two items on the menu that I ordered and was out of both. How do you run out of food at 5:00 pm on a Sunday?

My wife and I chose the Grand Marlin for our date night. The meals were perfect. I had the cracklin pork shank (this is to die for) and my wife had the trigger fish (also very good) and we topped this with a white chocolate banana bread pudding (another excellent choice). The meals were perfect and the service was equally... More

Great food. Great service. Great view. Definitely recommend. Try the blue cheese potato chips. Sinful, but yummy!

Visited there recently and have a good solid meal there. Enjoyed the apps from fried lobster to calamari, to bbq shrimp. Actually the sauce for bbq shrimp would have been great on a pasta in a entree. Had the seafood risotto and was just ok. Had a smoky flavor buy beyond that it was quite bland. I was hoping the... My husband and I met another couple here on a Thursday night for my friend's birthday. She wanted to eat at the Grand Marlin for her birthday because of the free birthday dessert which is her favorite. It was quite crowded for a Thursday night in January, and the parking lot was almost full. We got a nice booth (which... More

We read all the reviews and thought, this must be an incredible place to dine especially after viewing all the complimentary reviews. The best rated entree was pork shank, in which I ordered. Flavor and presentation appealing but meat was dried out. Once the server asked me my opinion, the once bubbly server, never came back to our table then... More

Drove over from Ft Walton Beach for a birthday dinner. First time at the Grand Marlin. Outstanding service (Danielle). They actually know how to make a Manhattan (becoming a lost art). Steak and crabmeat special was excellent. Dining room was little on the noisy side for a romantic evening (but then, we were on the Gulf Coast during the holidays);... More

... high quality, fresh ingredients with lots of flavor. I'm not a huge fan of Gulf oysters (much prefer the Northeast and Northwest varieties) but these were hands down the best raw oysters I've ever had on the Gulf Coast. The cold shrimp cocktail was another winner -- large, flavorful shrimp with outstanding remoulade and ok cocktail sauces. "Lobster fingers",... More

I've eaten at this restaurant a number of times and never really had a good meal. This last visit was profoundly different. This time they offered a crispy pork shank on an abbreviated Christmas Eve Dinner menu that was outstanding. The meat just fell off the bone, and it was deeeelish. I also had a dozen oysters on the half-shell... More
