Food is adequate at best, service slow but the staff are very friendly. We had three meals, the Hamburg was cold as was the chili and lasagna...which was buried in cheese. I did like my salads and my grandson loved his muffin pizza.

We had lunch at this restaurant that is across from the Visitor's Center and adjacent to the Grant Grove Gift shop this past Saturday. The restaurant was not busy, and the service was a bit slow, but not overly slow. The lunch menu was not extensive, but, again, sufficient, and the service, although slow, was otherwise excellent. We opted for... More

We were staying at the nearby John Muir Lodge for a few nights and were obliged to use this restaurant, which is the only food option in town (excluding making your own from the local shop). The restaurant had a meltdown 3 of 4 times in the time that we were there. The first evening was good, both from a... More

I was staying at a nearby lodge and this was the only dining option without driving for miles. The restaurant is dark and dreary. Tables are few and far apart, as if to fill up the large, open room. My salad was wilted and the pizza was nearly inedible. The crust was thick and doughy. On a positive note, the... More

The food was quite good but menu small and did not change day to day. We were there for 3 nights so had the same thing. It is just as you would expect in a location like this. Beautiful spot!

Kings canyons and hence our chosen lunch spot at Cedar Grove was closed due to the forest fires so we called in here . Not particularly a nice place , Spartan inside , overworked, understaffed led to haphazard service with re- heated- from frozen food. It took up space in your stomach but nothing else to say really

Food as expected for National Park. I was happy with the food on my one sit-in meal and one take away. Had the Caesar salad on the sit-in meal and it was fine and the pizza for take away which again was nice. The starters were overpriced-$6.95 pre tax for fries..... Service was dreadful. The restaurant was completely understaffed which... More

During our recent, three-week, trek to visit parks, forests and grown children, we camped for two nights in the Sequoia National Park. Usually we rough it, but after several days of camp found, we decided to splurge and eat at the Grant Grove Lodge restaurant just across from the Visitor's Center. We did not have high hopes; location usually trumps... More
