The food was very good and the price was right, but they were woefully understaffed for the start of a holiday weekend. We waited nearly an hour for our food and were only offered apologies-no bread or drink/dessert comps to make up for it.

Possibly the worst customer service we've ever encountered on vacation. The woman who was working the restaurant seemed as if having customers was the worst inconvenience possible. Huffing and puffing and eye rolling. We asked about ice cream and sandwiches but ended up leaving with a can of Root Beer because it seemed as if the other stuff would be... More

One of the motivators to get us and our three boys through the 9.2 mile hike to the Mist Falls (which are awesome), was the thought of having some ice cream on the way back. As soon as we walked in, it felt like we were inconviencing the staff. The place was not clean and we saw an elderly couple... More

Ranger at grants grove gave me some bad information that there was no gas anywhere but here, not true, but we stopped here for some instant anti Obama tirade and $6.00 a gallon gas. (5 gallon minimum) We were going to buy some drinks to go with our box lunches but passed on helping this person persist.

food was good. Staff (Andrew) was very nice and helpful. The only drawback is the hours that meal times were available. We ordered Chicken tenders, Black bean burger and the General Grant roast beef sandwich. Plentiful food and tasty. Good food for a good price.

I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here (which we didn't) but it is one of the few places with gas near kings canyon so we stopped. Brace yourself if you go. The proprietors are indifferent and backwoods and appear that you are bothering them. However the antiquities, stuffed animals and memorabilia give it and old world atmosphere are authentic as it... I agree with most reviewers. Absolutely no customer service. Rude manager. Obviously did not want customers. Dirty, cluttered, dark, smelly. Could not get out fast enough.

I'm a DC/Northern Va. city Slicker that was whisked away to a surprise engagement from my beau of 2 years. My fiancé warned me not to expect much..so i didn't. We arrived to breathtaking views, fresh air plus the convenience to all 3 national parks not overrun with tourists. We had Cabin 6 which was perfect bathroom/shower/ queen bed combo... More

We stopped only for a beverage. The proprietess was busily writing a letter to Trip Advisor when we arrived. We were the only customers. Thanks to her loud conversation with a delivery driver we learned that she was writing to Trip Advisor to demand you take down a negative review. She said she was prepared to sue for defamation. Our... More

Creepy weird decor was the tip off that we should keep on going. All the stuffed dead animals were not comforting. Grilled cheese was soggy. The hamburger patties came fresh out if the freezer. Keep on driving. Bathroom out back made a gas station look pristine.
