Worth the Ride to the Top!

We had a delightful lunch at the Alpine Inn, and based on some of the lackluster reviews we'd read here and elsewhere, we nearly skipped it. It is challenging to find restaurants that can accommodate my son's shellfish allergy. Alpine Inn was fabulous in taking precautions to insure his safety. The food was absolutely delicious, large portions, and our service was excellent. Will definitely go back the next time we go to Mt. Rainier.

Went here with the family Christmas eve. Great ambiance, general manager came over to welcome us. Had the lamb which fell off the bone, great mash potatoes and veggies. Nice wine selection, not awesome, and the brownie dessert was great. Clearly a place that cares.

I never give a poor review but this time is an exception. The service here is meh... Now, the food was great and big portion . The coffee strong and bold but the waitresses act like they don't want to be there with fake smiles and just plain bored.

I agree with another reviewer that the cuisine here is good but not great. We stayed the night at the Alpine Inn and had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Breakfast was great. I ordered a vegetarian omelet and it was fluffy and filled with fresh spinach (not canned, mind you) and mushrooms. The hash browns were crispy but not overcooked.... More

First a bit of geography: The Alpine Inn is not actually located in Mt. Rainier National Park but at Crystal Mountain Resort., just northeast of the park boundary. That said, if you are touring in and around the park it is certainly worth the six mile trip up Crystal Mountain Boulevard from Highway 410 to the resort. The Alpine Inn... More

We had dinner here, there aren't a lot of items on the dinner menu, but there is a variety for the items they do have. All of the food was good, there wasn't anything I would say was exceptional though. The service was very good and they have some nice desserts.

My wife and I had sandwiches for an early dinner as we arrived around 4pm. They were great and worked well for a very early dinner. The waiter was attentive and efficient considering he had a lot of tables to serve. The price was a little spendy, but it is the only show in town.

We ate here three times while we stayed at the Village Inn (8/6 - 8/9) across the parking lot. There are very few options for eating in this area, and the price does reflect that. The first night we went for dinner, my husband had a hamburger (was very nervous about paying $28 for the steak after having a bad... More

Hubby had the Goulash and I had the vegetarian curry. Both our dishes were delicious and very well presented. The meat in the goulash was tender and the sauerkraut was good. The tofu, veggies and gravy of the curry was delicious. Service was good too. Great deal is a 12 oz. carafe of organic wine for $12.
