Solid Value, Good Food at Crystal Mountain

We were really happy with several dinners at the Alpine Inn in August. Crowds were low, service was excellent & friendly, and the food was very good, especially given the remote location. We liked sharing their appetizers: Caesar salad, shrimp picatta, sautéed brie appetizer, crab cake, artichoke... read more

Predatory pricing due to the fact there's only one other establishment serving food (the pub downstairs). The drive into town is 45 mins away. So, if you're staying overnight and have vouchers for $20 for dinner, count on spending another $10 for something as basic as a piece of deep fried battered meat (i.e. weiner schnitzel)

Friendly efficient staff and wait people. Delicious home made food, with an European flare. I love the view outside watching it snow.

Although the Quicksilver Lodge was about the worst place I've ever stayed, the Alpine Inn Restaurant was OK. They were able to accommodate my gluten free needs, and the staff was pleasant.

Very German-like decor which gives you a warm and cozy feeling, especially when it is cold and rainy out. Menu reflects the Alpine decor, but has continental choices as well. I had the Hungarian Goulash and it was a HUGE portion...truly enough for four people. It was sweeter than I like, but the meat was savory and there was plenty... More

For lunch I had a Turkey BLT. The bacon was perfect and the turkey was carved meat. The Ciabatta roll was fresh. Yummy! For dinner I ordered crab cakes and sliced avocado. The crab cakes were no good(overly salty) and the avocado was rubbery and tasted like it had been soaking in lime. I am not a picky eater and... More

Excellent food but the restaurant itself is a bit dark and shabby, like the hotel. However, it fits with the casual atmosphere of a ski resort. Prices were reasonable.

We were looking for a meal while visiting the Gondola and there really aren't a lot of options. We saw the menu for a restaurant (Snorting Elk?) that is called a deli and bar and it looked great for our family with young kids (pizza, sandwiches) but when we tried to go we were told that it really is just... Anyone staying at the properties on the mountain are limited to this rather overpriced and mediocre at best eatery. Appreciate it's the only place to eat in 15 miles. But $14 for a simple cheesebuger or chicken ceasar salad is over the top. Weekday morning "breakfast" was very limited to cereal, some baked goods, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt. Weekend... More

We went up Sunday to see the mountains and stopped in to have a bite to eat. It was Sunday so it was a buffet style brunch. The food was good and the server was very friendly. The noise level was about medium. They were very busy but I didn't feel rushed.
