Fine Fare for the Famished

Being tired, crabby, and hungry, we fumbled our way into the Yavapai Cafeteria. We were confused by the way the kiosks were set up to take our orders. The food was adequate, but nothing special. The cafeteria ambience fell short and so we ate quickly and left.

Poor food - - poor service - - chaotic at times - - plastic plates - - better off getting some good from the shop and making a sandwich!!!

The food ordering system is bad, staff is bad, food is terrible. My family really had a bad experience here for breakfast (one of the simplest meals to prepare). If you see Yavapai Cafeteria, run the other way.

Reading these reviews are always funny. You are in the Grand Canyon not in NY City so your choices are limited. Chicken was pretty good as was the fresh salad and beans. Ask for fresh pizza slices if you order them. Beer and wine served at reasonable prices. Food came out quick. There is an adjacent tavern if you want... More

Don't know where to start. On the surface, the menu sounded OK for the price given its inside a national park. But after dining, it was clear we should have avoided this place. All of the dishes had food particles stuck on them. All the drinks were watered down (they don't call it orange juice because it tastes like the... More

Nothing to like about the food. You order at a kiosk and wait for your food. It comes off on a tray you pick up at counter. The clam chowder was inedible. My pizza had a card board crust. I've had better food at a school cafeteria.

The food quality was just OK. We ate breakfast here and the taste did not justify how much we paid for it. Far too expensive for food that was so-so. My pancake was enormous and I was so excited to eat it, but I took about 4 bites before I gave up on it and went with the oatmeal instead.

After a long day of hiking, we stopped here for a bit to eat. We ordered pizza and a salad. The salad bar was very fresh with great options- actually one of the best I have seen. Everyone working was very pleasant and helpful. The pizza was decent and a good size. It's great that they have a variety of... More

I like what they have done here - it's clearly gone through remodeling, and I like the coffee bar/grab n go area, as well as the remodeled kitchen/food area. Both my kids had ample choices for food, and were satisfied. I enjoyed my brisket and stew. The veg meatloaf was a bit dry. The breakfast options are good, and reasonable... More
