Only ate at the maswik caf, not Yavapai. It is a cafeteria, but strangely there is nowhere to bus your tray after you finish. Staff cleans up dishes from tables after you leave. The food was very bland. However, nothing was so bad that you couldn't eat it. My best choice was the mega burrito. At least it had some flavor.... more

We were on our way back to Sedona, so we needed to eat breakfast, so the cafeteria, self-serve at the Maswick served it's purpose. The prices were reasonable and the selection was good. eggs, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toasts, fruits, etc. standard fare. IT WAS OK, but would have preferred IHOP or Denny's for sure. more

After a long day hiking my husband, 4 kids and I were looking for a quick meal. We walked from Bright Angel Lodge to the Maswik Cafeteria. It was fine, in fact my boys really liked their hamburgers and fries. I got a passable chicken burrito and my girls got pasta (just ok) and a grilled cheese with fries (she... more

We ate at the Yavapai cafeteria once for breakfast. It was your typical cafe style. The breakfast selection was fine, and the All American Breakfast actually had quite a bit of food to it. There really isn't any atmosphere to it. If you are in a rush or have several children this is probably your best bet. My recommendation is... more

Not many ways you can screw up spaghetti, but Maswik cafeteria did it! Maybe if it wasn't cooked in the microwave it might taste a little better - no, the sauce sucked also. The hamburger I had the day before wasn't too bad. more

Awful does not adequately describe the food here. I could only eat half of my food and I decided to go hungry rather than finish it. The dining room was so warm I had to go back to the cabin and take a shower more

Decent cafeteria fare at relatively decent prices for Grand Canyon. Not much else to choose from unless you want to pay for El Tovar or the Arizona Room (and reviews are mixed on both) or buy from the General Store and cook your own. more

The main reason to eat here is because there's no place else to go. The prices are reasonable, but the choices are limited and the food is average. At busy times, there is a long wait in line to pick up a tray and pick out the items you want. more

A half mile or so from the South Rim is a complex of lodges, stores and a few dining options. Some locals suggested the Maswick Cafeteria, and we went there twice, having previously dined at the El Tovar (fine dining) and the Bright Angle Restaurant (better value but not memorable food), both right there on the Rim. They have a... more

We ate at both cafeteria's found them to be pretty good. Compared to Yellowstone's they seemed considerably better. They are very clean and inviting and efficient dinning places. There is a huge variety of food choices and the prices aren't too bad. I had the beef tips with gravy which was very good. Other people in our group had the... more
