Better than expected for miles from nowhere

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food at the Lodge dining room. My wife got reservations which proved to be essential for both nights. we were fortunate to get a reservation around sunset and had outstanding views as dusk and eventual night swept over the canyon. Of the dishes we... read more

We made reservations 6 months in advance with a request for a table with a view and we were not disappointed. Food was good. Wife had the duck (which is always a true test) and I had the bison flank steak. Both meals were superb. Steak was tender and delicious and the duck was smoked making it tender and delicious.... It is a good thing this restaurant is at the North Rim of the G.C. If not it would be out of business. The room is very inviting with a great view of the Canyon. That is where the goodness stops. The food was horrible!!! I had the Navajo taco. The Navajo are still shedding tears over this meal and... More

Ate lunch here on Saturday afternoon. Million dollar views!! The food was excellent and the service was great. No reservations needed for lunch but you will need for dinner. Beautiful, amazing lodge! Full of history and awesome views of the canyon! Do not miss it!!

If you want the view - book a table before sunset. At 4 pm, when we arrived at the lodge, the only available time was 8:45 pm. Even without the view, dining inside this beautiful lodge is a must, which we had expected to be more pricey. The waitors were friendly and when my friend's chicken was undercooked they handled... At the North rim Grand Canyon this is really the main spot to dine aside from the coffee shop/saloon next door. The food was very good. Needed reservation for dinner but we were able to sit out on the patio and order while enjoying the view of the Canyon. Our waiter Chad was excellent! With the greatest attitude and energetic... Had supper and then breakfast next morning. The service was very very good. Waiters were very helpful and courteous. Supper was very disappointing. Food was not very good and a little pricey. Breakfast was much better.

The view, if your abominable waiter opens the blinds, is fantastic. Food tasted good but both of us had upset stomachs several hours after dining there, one of us became extremely ill. I brought this to the attention of the Food and Beverage Director and he told me it was altitude sickness. For someone less healthy this could have been... More

The lodge dining room had several tables available when we arrived shortly after noon. We asked for a table near the window so we were treated to a spectacular view. We admired the old lodge decor and chatted with a very friendly server from England. They had a salad, sandwich, pasta buffet available for lunch and we opted for that.... More
