The feeling inside is surreal. There are stuffed animal heads mounted on the walls. It's dark inside, so bring a good flash if you are taking pictures. If you're not eating or staying at the lodge, you can relax on a rocking chair at the front porch.

Great restaurant--get a reservation!! $$-$$$ and very kid friendly. Avg dish being $25. Cozy dining room and friendly servers. It would be more worth the money if they included a side salad or cup of soup with a main entree. Otherwise that's another $7+ per person to add one.

The bar is well stocked. The appetizers are inventive, fresh, and delicious. The staff is attentive. Perfect place to refresh after time outside. Views to a beautiful outside plaza and parts of the canyon itself.

Stopped here after walking the rim in the snow and decided to warm up with something warm to drink. The cocktail lounge is located right next to the main dining area and is great for quick meals/snacks/drinks. Yet, who would have guessed it would be $50 for an order of hot cocoa for the kids, coffee for us, and a... More

This is the primo location on the South Rim, and with entrees in the $20 - $35 range, one would expect a high end dining experience. While the service is great and the menu creative, the actual cooking is only fair. I was reduced to ordering two appetizers instead of a main dish after three dinners there. The wine list... More

thought this would be nice to have a drink at as we couldn't get a room to stay at the hotel- for which I am very grateful. Cold chilly no atmosphere and other than the stunning location not much going for it

We celebrated our visit with drinks and appetizers in the El Tovar Lounge. Excellent service and the view was heavenly.

Once we drive to the Grand Canyon and hike the trail from the visitor center to the restaurant we arrive right about 2pm and of course they have just closed and won't let us in. Happened last year with one set of kids and spouses and again this year with another set of kids. We've eaten there once in the... More

Any visit to the Grand Canyon should include a stop at the El Tovar, for the beauty of the lodge, for the scenery, and for the food. Not many places where you can get all three of these at one place, and for a reasonable price considering it is remote and in a tourist area.

Full bar, incredible view. Great place to rest after a day of hiking. I wish it were a little bigger.
