I had dinner at El Tovar in May 2013 and again a few days ago. Both times we had reservations and were seated promptly on time ( actually had the same table). The first time we asked the restaurant manager to take a picture and he was physically annoyed but took a picture. Our service was very slow but the... More

We were here for lunch and ordered the cheese and crackers, fries and crab cake sliders. Sliders were OK, fries good, but the cheese plate was out of this world. We licked it clean. There is outdoor seating but we were indoors. There is a wonderful view of the GC steps from the deck. We did not order any alcohol... More

Our servers were professional, attentive to our needs and interested in our feelings toward the restaurant. The food was good and the dessert was scrumptious.

We went to the El Tovar on the recommendation of the Holiday Inn people, who recommended El Tovar due to its great views. The food was just terrible. My friend ordered the quail, which was entirely devoid of salt and seemed like chewing on rubber. The same was true for the duck I ordered. My suggestion would be that if... More

Stopped in for cocktails after our Rim to Rim hike. Decent service, cocktails were weak, food was average, view of the Grand Canyon good if you go outside on their deck.

We had a drink and appetizer on the back deck and enjoyed the great view of the canyon. Service was excellent and so was the tamale!

if you get the chance you must get a large dreyers ice cream cone after your bright angel hike. It's to die for! As you come up out of the trail take the left fork and the store is right in front of you.

We had a dinner at El Tovar during our stay at the Grand Canyon National Park. This place is amazing to see because of how long ago it was built, and how well it's been maintained to keep it looking "old but not old." Mural depict Indian tribes and the rest of the decor is so warm and friendly. Nice... More

We stopped here for lunch and snacks after walking the rim trail. The waitress was really ncie and friendly and gave us good recommendations. We had the garlic fries, the crab cake sliders, and the nachos. All of them were pretty good but the best thing about the place is the outdoor seating and the convenient location by the rim.

Went to El Tovar for breakfast after watching the Grand Canyon Sunrise. Walking in felt like walking into a time machine to the early 1900's. The lodge is steeped in history and seems to bring you right into a different point of time. The restaurant is furnished as it would have been and offers great views overlooking toe canyon.
