This is a must stop for a drink outside with a view of a life time to dinner or lunch inside the hotel. So much history and the food was awesome and service was great!

We ate about 3 years ago there. It was really good. This time, not so much. They had a Special with "tender pork loin and barbecue sauce" that was awful. The meat was literally shoe leather tough, I've never had such tough pork loin. We should have sent it back and didn't, my guest couldn't get through half of it.... More

A restaurant for the food, sadly, few tables have a view. Nice roulade appetizer, big enough to share. We ordered the quail, which was nice but a bit overwhelmed by the oyster stuffing. The. veal was perfectly prepared. Wine pairing recommended by our server were excellent. Apple pie was disappointing. Just a few tweaks and this would be amazing, but... More

The food was very good. we had lunch and don't feel it was expensive not cheap but worth what we were served. The place is so rustic we love it! Everyone was very helpful. Very Clean! Great Food! A must place to eat. You can also just sit on the rockers on front porch and look out at the Canyon.... More

We ate there for breakfast and dinner. For breakfast you do not need a reservation, service was fast and tasted great. For dinner you need a reservation. We showed up 15 minutes before our reservation and we were seated immediately. Service was not as fast as breakfast but still service was good. The filet mignon was so tasty and tender,... More

We were fortunate to be seated by a window. Cannot beat this view of the canyon. Husband thought his prime rib was quite good. My chicken was just okay. Sauce was getting a crust before it got to me. Service was slow. At first we thought our waiter was taking his time so we could see the changing light on... More

after a long drive, it was very pleasant to have dinner in this beautiful room, the room is traditional with lots of dark wood, white tablecloth and people dressed nicely, the location is amazing as the restuarant sits right on the rim and if you are lucky you may be able to get close to the windows

Same Xanterra grip on everything prevents competition and stifles improvement. The pation has one of the best locations on the South rim for a drink and a snack, and we found the service average on one day and great the following day. But if they landscaped the grounds and provided some large umbrellas it would be so much better. Shame.

wandered into the El Tovar Lounge while visiting the Grand Canyon. We had a cocktail and an appetizer with a spectacular view of the Grand Canyon. You must stop in there when visiting the Grand Canyon

Perfect timing got us a table just before a t-storm and we ordered a drink and appetizer which fed two adults and an 11 yr old grandson in an historic and quiet atmosphere away from the bustle of the Grand Canyon Village cafeterias and restaurants.
