Best view while having a cocktail

We were staying at the El Tovar and made a 9pm dinner reservation in the dining room. We were lucky enough to be able to get a table outside to watch the sun go down before dinner. The view was breathtaking. This would have been a five had the waitress been a little friendlier. It was an... read more

The view is spectacular and the beer selection very good. However, the menu is very limited and the service a little slow.

This indoor/outdoor lounge is a good, more casual alternative to the El Tovar dining room, which books up months in advance. Our "appetizers " were hearty enough for lunch and not unreasonably priced. Try the duck sliders with blueberry bbq sauce. Yummy!

Expensive and old but it is on the south rim, so it's to be expected. It adequately meets needs, especially if you're hiking down into the canyon.

Serves excellent, quality fare, in a location that can't be beat. A wonderful respite following a hike around Grand Canyon rim.

My husband and I had late reservations for dinner in the restaurant and went to the lounge porch for a cocktail prior to being seated. The waiter was the rudest server I have ever encountered and basically called me a liar when I told him we were guests of the hotel. I have never been so offended. We moved inside... More

It was nice. If you happen to sit by a window the views are beautiful. Food was good but not over the top for the price.

Make sure you ask about the desserts and specials and please try to remember that this old gem is a historical site. I heard quite a few folks wonder, if that's the right word, about why the place looked so old. I was there while construction/rehab was going on but that did not hamper my meal. It was a pretty... What a great piece of history, and good food! The waitstaff treated us like we were royalty, modeled after the Fred Harvey Co of the 40's and 50's. Fine dining on China at deli prices. Food was as great as the ambiance!
