Good food and service

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant and all three meals were very good as was the service which is unusual for a restaurant at a national park. Having a table by a window made our experience all the more enjoyable.

We ate dinner there at 5pm and requested a view table. It was not busy so they were able to accommodate our request. Our waiter, Jose, was great and explained everything. He was also very patient with family members who only spoke German. I ordered the salmon tostada, my husband ordered the steak and our guests had their famous chicken.... More

Enjoyed a very good breakfast with a range of entrees all nicely presented and tasty. The design of the building and dining room and our view over the grand canyon exceeded expectations. The distinctive china also a nice touch. Very unique and memorable experience.

We each had their chicken breast on angel hair pasta. Well prepared and very tasty. 2 breasts so took 1 home for lunch later. Good tasting apple pie with ice cream. Get your reservation before you go or you will not get in.

We went there the first day we got to the Grand Canyon and I wouldn't recommend anyone doing that. It's a hassel getting into hotels there, parking and getting around and with a reservation deadline you feel anxious and tense. Not the way you want ot start you trip. The food is good even if it's a little pricey and... More

I was there with my husband and another couple. They ordered the steak and I tried the Halibut. As the waiter approached our table with our dinner entrée and I could smell my fish before the waiter got to our table. That gave me a terrible feeling. As I took the first bite the fish was horrible. It had no... More

I have to say that if this was not in the park and in the El Tovar, which is probably the nicest of all park accommodations, I would've opted for something else. We stayed at the hotel so this was the obvious choice for meals. We ate dinner our first night and decided not to go back a second time.... More

They try to do something special, but the don't quite make it. The food is OK, but not anything spectacular. I wish we had tried the Arizona Room at the Bright Angel.

My expectations of this dinner were tempered by the mixed reviews I saw for El Tovar. First of all, the ambiance was very nice. Tablecloths, historic dinnerware, windows looking out to the canyon, Paintings of the canyon, relatively quiet and traditionally dressed wait staff greeted us as we sat at our table. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. I... More
