Great food. Even better service!

The hotel was full for our visit to the canyon. However, we decided to stop in for lunch on a busy day. (The trains had just arrived and visitors were filing in.) We were greeted at the door and immediately seated at a table with a great view. Water and menus showed up within about a minute and... read more

Our dinners were fine, just ok but at $30 a plate they should be better. They are guaranteed people to eat since this is about it for the Grand Canyon. We had an interesting little visitor up above the eaves in the curtains. Some adorable little ring tailed creature lives in the dining room. So cute and unexpected. Quite a... More

Breakfast is good and dinner is only so-so. Therefore the reason I gave it an average rating. As I mentioned in my review of the hotel - you are here for the convenience to the Grand Canyon.

My wife was keen on giving me a birthday bash and celebratory dinner in the El Tovar dining room the evening we returned from Phantom Ranch. As is the case with well-laid plans, the Canyon is unforgiving and we had some unanticipated delays getting back to the Rim. The good news was everyone returned alive from the hike. The bad... More

Top notch and the best Reastaurant in the area. Deserts are home made by a skilled pastry chef with great artistic flair. Food was very good but very crowded and a bit hectic. Great place to eat, rest and plan your next adventure.

Visiting the Grand Canyon, and wanted a nice, sit-down lunch. That's just what we got at El Tovar. We started with the French Onion soup which was unparalleled. I can't recall when I've had it prepared so perfectly. I had the special, which that day was grilled tilapia with a jalapeño-creme sauce over a black bean rice. It was amazing!... More

Went to the Grand Canyon last week. We ate lunch at this restaurant. The view is spectacular! We were seated near a window! Our waiter was really attentive. The food was reasonably priced and good! Not wonderful but good. Worth it for the experience.!

We enjoyed the historic Inn. We stayed one night following our trip. It was beautiful and haunted. I swear I saw a ghost. The food was great, even though they were super busy.

People are dressed anywhere from dressy casual to suits and we asked if needed to reserve and they suggest it but when they found out it was Barbs birthday they took us first. Sat away from window at first and moved us up to the rim. WHAT A VIEW! Wait staff in Tuxes. Everyone had a smile. Offered and explained... More

We hopped off The Grand Canyon Railroad and bee-lined it to El Tovar because we knew the view would wait but our stomachs wouldn't. Our servers were all super personalities with only one goal in mind and that was to make us happy. Dining room, first of all is gorgeous, rustic, lodge and welcoming. Three of our party ordered the... More
