Nothing Special

Just a quick place to pick up a sandwich or drink. Nothing special which is a shame as the North Rim could use a second option besides the main dining room at the lodge for food and beverages.

Looking for a quick meal while we waited out a snow shower, we decided to grab lunch at the Deli attached to the Grand Canyon Lodge. We were surprised by large portions, wonderful food and decent prices. The staff could use a little more training/experience, but we realize it was still early in the season. The pulled pork sandwich with... More

Don't waste your $ in the dining room - come to the deli for hot food or cold sandwiches and salads, plenty of choices, lots of places to sit or you can do take-out, good service, open until 9pm, everything you could want.

Only one couple ahead of me when I walked in, but still had to wait almost 10 minutes to order a pepperoni pizza, only to be told to order pizza at the register. They advertise a 16" pizza (15.48 for pepperoni ) so I ordered, payed and told 20 minutes. OK so about 20 minutes, should have taken 45 minutes.... More

While the name of this place is a tad misleading (it is most definitely NOT a deli), I did find the location great (as I was staying in one of the lodges excellent Western Cabins) and the food was pretty good, though the pizza I had was a tad undercooked (and hence underwhelming). Their sandwiches were pretty good and had... More

We ate at the "deli" twice and made sure we ate in the dining room on our second night. I would liken it to a Little League baseball snack bar. The pizza was dough and cheese, with optional pepperoni. BTW, the pizzas in the bar are brought over from the "deli". The pulled pork sandwich was still cold in the... More

This is for the deli at the lodge at the North Rim. Had dinner here one night while staying in one of the cabins of the lodge. If you haven't made reservations for dinner in the main dining room, this may be your only option other than a very limited menu at the saloon. And the menu here is pretty... More

Having visited a great many national parks, the Deli in the Pines is really not a bad option. I'm speaking specifically about the pizza, as it fit a craving after our hike to Roaring Springs and back. We were very hungry (and cold!) so we ordered a whole pizza at the register - half pepperoni/half cheese. The wait time was... More

If you are going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to hike with an early morning start, make a reservation at the Lodge's dining room way, way in advance to get an early seating. We called only 4 days in advance and the earliest reservation available was 9 p.m. That was way too late for us as we... More

If you actually enjoy the food you eat then don't eat here. This is not a deli in the true sense of the word. This is more of a convenience store with tables. The sandwiches are premade and prepackaged and the soup is really, really bad. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more to eat in the lodge... More
