We were on the red bus tour and it stopped at Many Glacier for lunch. We had the "Loose Elk meat sandwich" with a zucchini relish. It was very good. Similar to a sloppy joe but not sloppy. The waitress was very good and very attentive. We were very happy with our meal. The scenery was also great from the... More

When I eat at a national park lodge, I expect average food at best. Even with those low expectations, Ptarmigan Dining Room was a disappointment. The trout was barely edible. Nothing compared to the one I had at another place in West Glacier a few nights before. The actual waitress was fairly inattentive, but the server who refilled the drinks... More

Had dinner here twice. First time I ordered the trout ( after hiking 12-15miles) and it was like an appetizer portion? Small fish--- and I ordered the "whole fish" for $20.95. The veggies and quinoa were good. Garden salad and spinach salad are both tasty! I was so appreciative of the fresh produce after eating bars and trail food all... More

Had an excellent meal, almost gourmet experience. Staff were attentive, but not perfect. Atmosphere is beyond compare.

The Ptarmigan dining room is very interesting but I think it is sad the food does not begin to match the view.. In the words of the great Dick Clark "it's a sixty five - very awe inspiring yet the food is mediocre". The first night was our best. She Who Must Be Obeyed had the trout - fresh ,... More

We ate here our last morning in Glacier. I had the eggs (any style), and my wife had the salmon. Our dishes were great, but the OJ was awful. Worse than the worst store brand of concentrated. The server was great in all regards. I would skip the two options for breakfast buffet unless you are going to gorge yourself... More

We had a great brunch here. Decor was lovely, table was right next to the massive fireplace and the service was fast and friendly.

I didn't go to Montana for the food so I was neither elated nor disappointed by the cuisine. Nevertheless, we had several perfectly nice meals here surrounded by a magnificent setting and good service. I do wish they took reservations or at least called hotel guests in their rooms to let them know their tables were ready rather than have... More

Had little time for lunch today so we stopped into the hotel dining room, the Ptarmigan Room. Quick lunch was a burger for myself and salad for my partner. My partner commented on how fresh the baby greens were and the dressing was a good mixture of balsamic vinegar and oil. He gobbled that down real quick. The burger was... More

We stopped here on our way from Waterton to East Glacier and the lunch was very nice. We shared smoked trout and the Farmer's Salad. As said, it was nice.
