Food was just okay. Some interesting dishes. Prices were a little high but this is the only dining in the area without driving 30 to 40 minutes out of the park.

We had a window view of the lake and we wanted to eat here. After lunch, we turned to each other and said, , "OK, now we've done that and we won't be back!" Vegetable barley soup didn't have much flavor and service wasn't attentive. The lobby and location are something you need to experience, but I much prefer the... More

I ate here 3 night in late August 2014 while staying at Many Glacier Hotel. The dining room with beautiful. Service was great. Reservations are not accepted ahead of time. I rarely had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. I had the pork schnitzel one night and the chicken schnitzel the last night and both were very good. The vegetarian... More

After a 10-mile hike, I was starving!!! Our family wanted Schnitzels but they were out of them. So three of us ordered Bison Filet, medium rare. Two of us got that. I got it well done; server didn't come back for 10 minutes and then I had to ask for a re-fire. Second try, it came back cold and raw....not... More

Menu descriptions sound very impressive; however, the food fails to deliver. The spaetzle was under seasoned and lacking sauce, the prime rib was very thin and much too fatty and the dinner rolls looked and tasted like hamburger buns.

National Parks are for enjoying the incredible outdoors.....not so much about food. Keep your expectations low and you'll be fine. Better yet, try some of the fantastic spots outside the park and get the best of both worlds!

Our party of 7 casually dressed women had a nice dinner at Ptarmigan dining room. Since they don't accept reservations you could end up with a wait but we were seated fairly quickly near the windows with the world class view. (Note: we went in Sept). We had a variety of different entree's ranging from very good (buffalo burgers) to... More

The view and the atmosphere are lovely, and the evening we were there the service wasn't very good but I think it was just our waitress. The food was good, but it was cheaper and easier to eat at Swiftcurrent where we were staying. We waited almost an hour for our table here even though the hostess said it would... More

You can't get a prettier view than if you have a window seat for dinner in the Ptarmigan dining room. We waited a little extra time to sit near the window and the interim enjoyed a glass of wine. They were also kind enough to allow us to bring our bottle of wine in to dinner to finish with our... More

The redecorated dining room is attractive and features a view that can't be beat - anywhere. The service we had (three times) was always attentive. The food varied. My trout one evening was great; my wife's on a subsequent night far from it. It's in a national park (concessionaire) hotel and that's what you should expect.
