Not great, but convenient

The only reason this review earned an "average" rating is because of the convenience/location factor this restaurant brings. It is surprisingly not that expensive for its location, but it lacks quality. I ordered a "bbq mountain feast" and it included brisket, pulled pork, chicken, beans, and... read more

The only reason this review earned an "average" rating is because of the convenience/location factor this restaurant brings. It is surprisingly not that expensive for its location, but it lacks quality. I ordered a "bbq mountain feast" and it included brisket, pulled pork, chicken, beans, and cornbread. The brisket was actually just some steak, a cheap cut of meat -... More

We were staying at the Rising Sun Motor Inn (which is a good choice if you're looking for simple, relatively inexpensive lodging on Going to the Sun Road). So the grill was a natural dining venue. Breakfasts were generally fine (although my wife had to send back a tepid, unappealing oatmeal order). They offer fruit and yogurt as well as... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food that was served at Two Dog Flats. Portions were more than ample and there was quite a variety to choose from. Loved that they offered whole grain waffles and delicious omelets for breakfast among other things. Lunches and dinners were very good, and all served up with a beautiful view!

We weren't expecting much at the Rising Sun Motor Inn, but the restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast there was better than at the Many Glacier Hotel, which gives you the choice of the steam-table buffet of things you didn't want, or a poorly executed a la carte menu. The pancakes and French toast were great, the staff attentive.... More

We enjoyed a good burger here on the red bus lunch stop. Really it was quite good. Price was reasonable and service was attentive. I'd rate it pretty high for park service food. Dinner and views are better at Many Glacier but this is the place for lunch in the area.

I actually was a teeny bit disappointed on this trip to Two Dog Flats. The menu isn't as broad as you'd think for a sit-down place, but nonetheless does have some variety to serve the vegan, the vegetarian and heavy duty meat eater. I think the reason I was disappointed was when we were here in 2012, the concessionaire was... More

If you like constantly reminding your waitress to bring things you have already asked for a couple of times earlier this is the restaurant for you. Or if you like getting something other than what you ordered. It was not only us but others around us as well. We ate there for dinner. My cousin who recommended this place likes... More

I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! The menu was unique from other park restaurants (I loved the turkey meatloaf). Service was great and most of the restaurant (not just three seats) had a pretty view. Be sure to stop in to this place!

We were starving after a day in Glacier National Park. My usual planning skills failed us, and we had nothing to eat. So we drove to Rising Sun with low expectations. What a delightful location --- beautiful views -- and menu much different from what we see elsewhere in Montana. My daughter and I shared the huckleberry pulled pork sandwich... More

You of course can't beat the views from this restaurant, which adds to the rating! Our food was so-so, but we really appreciate the effort to source local food and the sustainability efforts. I would in fact maybe rate the restaurant higher just for this, but the food still needs to be prepared well. And it lacked some flavor. There... More
