This place is amazing. The food is absolutely incredible. And relatively speaking, the price is not that extravagant. The food you're getting is well worth the cost.

This little gem of a restaurant is hiding in plain sight right off the highway. The service was impeccable. Very pleasant atmosphere. They hire the locals, how refreshing!! They are a scratch kitchen using mostly local products. Their dishes are creative and exceptionally well presented. I had the steak baguettes with a mouth watering parmesan alioli sauce. The sirloin tips... More

We had just got back from a scenic flight around Denali and dropped in to see if they could seat us. It was very busy but they found us a spot at the bar. The food is exceptional with local produce the star. Very friendly staff even though we looked pretty scruffy from hiking earlier in the day. Do yourself... More

229 Parks was recommended to us by our B&B manager. It was a bit of a drive, but well worth the effort to get there. Our dinner was just wonderful, the service was great and the ambiance very pleasing. We had the roasted raddish and spot prawn appetizer, then scallops and halibut. All were just beautifully prepared and totally yummy.... More

This place has great food, a good staff, and a nice ambiance. I would normally give it 4 stars, but I am giving it an extra star compared to the dearth of good cuisine elsewhere in Alaska and also for taking risks--this is not a typical American tourist place. The food was very good, although there were a few misses.... More

We ate here two nights ago. Food presentation is probably the best in the area. We had salmon cakes, halibut, steak and dessert. The dinner salad was the best I have ever had. Dessert menu is not so impressive just okay.

I ate here based on a recommendation from a fantastic woman from Talkeetna. Always trust the locals! I had just finished a long day in the park and was searching for comfort food. I really wanted soup and was a bit sad that the menu listed only a dill soup. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely amazing. The... More

For a party of 7, we treated ourselves to a dinner out after hiking in Denali for two days. One of our best meals in AK! Clams and crab cakes outstanding and most delectable pot de creme ever - make sure to save room.

Easily the best food I've eaten in Alaska. Get off the beaten tourist track and visit this charming, local treasure. The seafood is killer, and the kitchen sources as much local and responsibly harvested ingredients as possible. A meal here is meant to be savored, so don't come if you're in a rush. The kitchen staff and front of house... More
