Redeemed themselves beautifully

Visited a couple of months ago and the lunch was not pleasant. Reluctantly joined a large group of friends there today and was very pleasantly surprised as the food was fabulous. Great views, good food (now), love the 'guard' dog and greeter geese

If you are looking for a perfect spot for a bite to eat up on the Mountain, stop here. We love the old charm of the hotel and love even more the St Bernard dogs that you have to walk over when you walk in. If you walk out to the back you will be greeted with beautiful views over... More

Where to go for a generous lunch on a Saturday with my grown kids and grandchildren. St Bernards seemed the perfect choice. We sat outside making the most of the spectacular view. We had a variety of orders including steak burgers, beef and guiness pie, grilled fish and some kids meals. All were cooked well and portions were perfect. I... More

Meet with a group of friends for a pub lunch, some of the meals better than others but it is a pub and we all loved the experience. There is a real Saint Bernard often blocking the entry, her name is Molly. Its quaint and old and just a great place to meet, relax and chill with indoor and outdoor... More

Loved the St Bernard dog lying asleep in the reception area. Had the Guinness pie with mashed potatoes and peas. Huge lunch but lovely on a cold day.

Made a booking for roast night. I think the locals eat earlier than 6.30. The meal was nothing special - good value pub good. The dessert was a disappointment, I really like dessert - the service was a bit slow, but this could have been because we didn't get there until 6.30 p.m. and it looked like most people had... More

We have visited twice in the past two weeks and are always greeted by friendly staff and the beautiful St Bernard who elegantly drapes himself in the entrance hall. The food is tasty and well presented and the Hotel has old style character and warmth. The rear patio is lovely for lunch in the sun looking out over the mountains... More

Great atmosphere for having a quiet drink or dining. Really good prices for meals except for Friday night when usual pub/restaurant prices apply. Don't expect cheap drinks though.

An absolute delight! Luxury and comfort in a spectacular location. We stayed in one of the new lodges and wished we could have stayed longer. 2 double beds, 1 king all with ensuites. Quality and comfort throughout. Fully equipped kitchen with stone benchtops and a log fire.
