Having lived in the area for circa 20 years, for some reason we had never been to the Irby Mill... however this Summer has changed all that and seen us become a regular... it started with a drink in the Sunshine in their recently converted outside area, however the smells from the kitchen has us returning for my birthday meal... They have an extensive menu although typically pub grub. We had fish & chips, the fish was huge although ovEr cooked & somewhat dry in my opinion. The skins on chips didn't appear to be freshly cooked either. Service was friendly. The pub inside is very dark & basic however there are tables outside too.

Great country pub with good ambiance tucked away in Irby; with flagstone floor ; brilliant choice of food ; and a choice of eight 'Guest' Ales. !! The Michel Servin Rouge house red at £11.95 is very palatable too. Be careful to ask for a large table if having the Battered Cod Fillet.........it's HUGE !! Very friendly and helpful staff... More

First time visit and will most definitely not be the last.. when we're next in the area! Very nice traditional country pub with all the old decor surviving strong. We arrived just before opening time although the staff were more than welcoming and friendly enough to let us in and settle down. Food was fresh as a daisy (and we... More

`Irby mill is characterful pub lying just out side Irby on the Wirral. A very old pub built out of sandstone has been carefully modernised to meet the requirements of the pub/restaurant business. Food is quite traditional but well cooked and presented. It is slightly more costly than the average pub but that reflects the affluent location and the food... More

We visited here for my mother in laws 70th birthday recently. The four of us were all pleased with our meals, although I would say they were fairly expensive for what they were. The rooms are small so on a warm day it did feel quite claustrophobic. However, in the winter, with the fires on I am sure it would... More

It's not very often we both come away from somewhere having thoroughly enjoyed what we've had to eat/drink and with no complaints. We had lunch here. It was really busy on a Monday! Lovely pub with great atmosphere which I guess is even better in the evening. Weather was fab so we sat out to eat. Gardens were lovely. The... More
