Lovely pub

Do not forget to book ahead. We had a lovely birthday lunch here. My husband particularly loved the slow cooked lamb shoulder and my fish was really excellent. Nice desserts too. You can find local real ales. Really good place to go for a meal!

We visited here as a large party of 15 including numerous children aged from 1 to 10 years! It was New Year's Day and busy but the service was excellent. All the food came out together from three very good members of waiting staff and they couldn't have done enough for us. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their... More

Had a really nice meal with my partner at the Kirkstile Inn, we will be returning and I can highly recommend the inn. We were sat in the conservatory area which is nice and secluded, and the members of staff are very attentive in attending to any needs you have. Our choice of meal was the lamb Henry and it... More

We got a little lost trying to find this place, but, the views were breathtaking, so, who cares... This is a most charming English pub to visit. Cozy room with wood fireplace. Cheerful clients. Salads to start were good. The steak pie with chips, as well as sticky toffee pudding were both excellent. Finally, they feature a solid selection of... More

With low wooden beams, stone interior walls and roaring log fire this a classic Lake District Pub. Perfect for good food and a good pint located in stunning scenery. Would recommend a visit. Just a word of warning, if your a dog owner, the Kirkstyle Inn is only dog friendly between 10am & 6pm, so no poochies allowed in for... More

The Kirkstile is in a gorgeous location with great views. Perfect place to warm up after a walk. They even allow dogs inside. When you walk in the noise of the crackling fire welcomes you, along side the smiling staff. Steak pie was delicious as was the fish and chips! Looking forward to my next visit.

Sue and I went with friends on one of the wettest November evenings ( it got worse later) despite that the establishment was busy. Always a welcoming fire. Pre Booking is advised particularly as there is nowhere else to eat for miles! Sweep his girlfriend and I had the lamb, good as usual. Sue had chicken stuffed with sausage and... More

We visited here on New Year's Day after a walk round Loweswater. The atmosphere was warm as was the pub itself. Dogs are allowed which is great. We ordered three 'Tatie Pots' and they did not disappoint. They were just what we wanted. Some nice wholesome home cooked food. Definitely to be recommended!

You must visit this pub. It's everything you imagine a Lake District pub to be; a great location for a spectacular walk, a good place to get latte and a piece of cake or a 3 course meal, or maybe your simply looking for a great pint. There is a large selection of Cumbrian legendary ales brewed on site. Now... More

Food tasteless, only just hot, fish tasted cheap. Batter best part of the meal. A little unhappy that two nearly unfinished plates of food were taken away and no comment was made as to why we hadn't eaten our meals. We were just asked if we would like a dessert! Not a pleasant experience.
