We popped in on a whim as it was getting late and we had been driving for a couple of hours. By chance we happened upon this place and thought we would give it a go. Well, it was a pleasant surprise indeed! Excellent food and service, portion size was good and value for money, charming atmosphere. Highly recommend giving... More

I booked a table for 2 here for the Friday before fathers day to treat my dad, as he was being taken out already on the sunday. we arrived promptly and were shown to our table in the restaurant, it was very cosy and tastefully decorated. I ordered from the specials board, the salmon, new potatoes, spinach green beans and... More

We had this pub recommended to us by my father who loves his pub meals. The pub itself is a good country pub with some nice ales. The menu selection was a bit limited but it was supplemented by the Specials board. The food was well presented and tasty. The desert menu was ok if you are happy with alcohol... More

Very nice pub..... welcoming staff and very good food. It's traditional pub food but extremely well done and at a reasonable price. The chips are wonderful - are they double fried? and the sticky toffee pudding is gorgeous!!

Had two meals here. Both times the staff were very welcoming. The food was great, and the dog enjoyed himself in the bar whilst we ate.

10 of us went for a meal in February and we were treated like two separate tables. I emailed to inform of my dissatisfaction, they agreed that this wasn't acceptable. Having offered me a voucher as a gesture of an apology I was keen to try them again. I have however been waiting for 2 months without receiving these. My... More

My family and I have been to The Hunters Inn several times now and I feel very compelled to write a review and share our recent experiences. I have to say that the service is wonderful. We arrived 15mins before opening time today but the staff welcomed us in from the cold and settled us in their cosy restaurant. The... More

Went here for a meal while staying in Barnstaple, having passed it many times over the years. Inside the pub and car park were bigger than expected, but very cosy atmosphere as pub consists of several quaint rooms. Very busy on the Sunday evening we visited and only just managed to get a table. Food was very good although steak... More

We came across this pub when visiting north Devon. Time was getting on (1.45pm) for lunch we went into the pub and asked if they were still serving, we were told yes, they served food from 12 noon to 9pm we were shown to a nice table, and our order for drinks was taken. The waitress was some time before... More
