Weekday lunch

Visited on a lovely sunny weekday lunch time with three generations of family from pensioner to toddler. We decided to eat outside having wandered aimlessly around the interior of the pub unsure where we could eat with a toddler. I was initially put off by the general lack of acknowledgement or... read more

We have been a few times now and are never disappointed. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. We recommend it to our visitors. I'm sure we'll visit again..

We stopped here for lunch at this gorgeous old pub which is dog friendly too. Our meal was beautiful and loads of it. Great beers and cider so what's not to like. A great friendly village pub with good service.

Stopped for a pub lunch and glad we did. Friendly welcome and food came quickly although there were plenty of people there. Had rib-eye steak and quality was good, especially the mushrooms. Chips and salad also good and the portions were large . My wife had a Cajun chicken salad which was delicious, very spicey which she enjoyed. The prices... More

Been coming here infrequently over the years and used to deliver a good Sunday roast but now, I'm afraid, many do it a lot better. Portions average to small and the local beef has the perfect slicing and texture that only comes from being pre-prepared and reheated. Lunch menu in the week used to have great variety too but now... I read your comments, are you sure you have the right Hunters Inn? We serve a lovely Sunday roast, and our waiters always offer everyone extra vegetables, potatoes & trimmings, so no one goes away hungry. Our week day menu vegetarian options are very nice, specially chosen to use the best seasonal ingredients, this month we have a very tasty... More

We ate here on recommendation of the B&B we stayed at. My husband had the steak which was cooked just as he asked. I had the fish/seafood pie which was tasty although somewhat sparse on fish, had 2 prawns and generous potato crust. It was good pub food.

We were staying nearby and stopped here for dinner on a Friday night. We were welcomed and given a table even though we were actually a bit late to be served food. The menu was extensive with great choices. We had a pasta dish and steak, delicious! The service was spot on and not intrusive or rushed given that it... More

Well, it was supposed to be a romantic evening. I asked for a table in the main bar/ restaurant area. We were put in a corner of the Public Bar. No candle like other tables. Mediocre food. When we paid, we mentioned our disappointment and all we got was the usual "I'm sorry". The standard has certainly declined and it... More
