Tasty, friendly and easy: with Barolo for 10 Euros a glass!

Ok, so I rate this place fairly highly based on its wine list first. You can get Barolo by the glass from 10 Euros and Barbaresco for around 6 (and others for less). The service was good, the decor basic (sitting outside on a sunny day today was fantastic) and the food was very simple as well as... read more

We had a 3-hour lunch here today, following our tour and tasting next door at Borgogno. 4 very good courses plus semifreddo, and an ample supply of wine, water & coffee, kept us there for longer than we had anticipated. A nice interior and the friendly youthful staff contributed to this being an unexpectedly enjoyable lunch. Yes, it lies in... More

My friends and I were in the area to tour wineries. It was raining and this restaurant fit the bill- it was open! We were pleasantly surprised. I would also recommend... More

The restaurant is not up to par with the rest of the establishments we frequented during our 4 day trip to Barolo. It is in the town center, an easy walk up from the parking grounds, but it is out-matched by its many peers in the area.

We drove into Barolo to re-visit the Enoteca at Casa Svizzera, where we stayed in February, just to go and buy some of their wine. As it was lunch time, we decided to have a bite at the Barolando just opposite. Honestly, I was a bit reluctant to go, as it does not look extremely inviting. But there were locals... More

I thought it was better but first we drank a glas of Barolo which did not taste very nice, but nice was the price 8 Euro, so we payed 16 Euro for two small glass of Barolo. Together with the dinner we ordered a bottle of Nebbiolo for the price of 18 Euro we did not like it. The food... More
