Interesting place to visit

spring is a good time to visit. all the trees are in blossom and very pretty. you can take a nice walk through the orchard, sample some ciders and have a nice lunch. I've eaten here a couple times. once for lunch and once for dinner. both times the food and service was great.

I'm a local, and gave Merridale one more chance yesterday. Now its off my list forever. The service was terrible, again - I don't expect an angry attitude from the kitchen or the server if I ask for a substitution, especially after I was told "no substitutions". Then was given a completely sub-par plate of food, and when I mentioned... More

We have been here twice for lunch in the past two weeks with friends visiting the Island. Tried a few different menu items and were very impressed. The food was very good and flavourful, the server was very friendly and professional. We love taking friends here.

The cider is good. Very good. But (and it's a BIG "but") I do not like paying the tourist prices for their product. I went their for a meal there years ago and the experience was not good (it really was amateur hour - mediocre food and poor service). Haven't been back to their restaurant since. They should stick to... More

We had not been out to Merridale since the fall and were pleasantly surprised to find that they had a new menu. A lot of the old things that they used to have are back and they are good. The Irish Stew, uniquely served in a bread bowl is wonderful, as is the Chick Pot Pie. Unfortunately we did not... More

My husband and I were married at Merridale last Summer and we had the best experience. Jess, the coordinator, had every detailed covered from the word go. On the day of I was extremely anxious but from the moment our ceremony started until the last guest left, everything was absolutely perfect. We've had guests to this day telling us it... More

Merridale offers a very unique setting for events and after hearing about and checking out the reviews regarding the bistro food, we paid a $750 deposit to secure our August 2014 wedding date in December. In February 2014, all the wedding couples were invited to pay for and participate in an evening to sample the catered food offering in order... More

Came here for lunch in mid November 2014 after a good experience April the previous year. Ordered the duck cassoulet. I am not sure who made up this dish but the beans weren't well cooked or rich Overall it was very tomatoey with beans that had not soaked up the cooking liquids. Duck was aso very lean, not braised long... More

Good time for a casual visit, good cider and, on summer Sunday nights, excellent pizza. Rcommend for comfortable friends and family occasions. Normal fair will surprise you with its finer tastes

We shared two 4-course, vegetarian, "Whisky Jack" dinners. The two salads, pasta dishes, entrees and desserts were delicious and well-presented. The service was professional, friendly, and courteous. The setting is beautiful (apple orchard and cidery) and the decor is informal but attractive. The Whisky Jack dinners included a taste of their 2007 whisky. It was surprisingly excellent--so much so that... More
