Great tasting and fun staff.

We did a cider tasting with friends. All very different, unique and good. Traditional was our favourite. We also tried the new Gin which was strong but very unique with the many botanicals. The staff were fun and entertaining, we had a lovely lady from Northern England who was a riot.

Our visitors are well seasoned wine drinkers and restaurateurs so always hard to come up with interesting sites to see. We made the trip south to Cobble Hill to check out this Cidery. What a pleasant surprise - very professional and similar to the tour stops we enjoyed on a recent trip down under. Jackie our tasting guide was knowledgeable... More

I was told about Merridale Cidery by a coworker and decided to make a stop on our way to Courtenay. What a fun place to visit. Very well organized and very neat and tidy. Reminded me of wineries in California. Signage is excellent. We were there on a Tuesday and it was very busy! We had a great lunch served... More

Burger, fries and dessert - $28. Poor service, very busy. First ones there, 2 hours for a lunch that was forgettable. Frozen mousse was like granite, could not eat it until it was microwaved and that took 10 minutes. My friends chicken pot pie was frozen in the middle, as was her apple pie. Really!!! Took forever for the bill... More

Hello Sharon, thank you for your thoughtful review of our bistro. Indeed it seems we fell down that day, which is no excuse for being served food below the high standards we set for ourselves. We have addressed the issues with the apple pie and have changed the method with which we bake the pot pies. We are very sorry... More

Four of us drove up from Victoria to have lunch at Merridale. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained but our primary reason for the trip was to have lunch and so I will focus on that. Overall, our meals were only passable. The ploughman's lunch turned out to be somewhat different from how it was described by our server.... More

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry you didn't feel the food had good value. We serve local food where available and it has a higher cost to it, but we feel it is important to support our local farmers and suppliers. That being said we have taken your concerns to our chefs... Normally you would not take your children to a brewery or winery but this experience is very family friendly with activities for the children like hunting for 'little people' on a short trail through the orchard and colouring under watchful eyes while you're enjoying your tasting. The ciders are excellent and the restaurant is great too. Pizza night shouldn't be... More

Loved the venue, enjoyable walks. Disappointed with the shop. We were interested in some baskets that had a sale sign. A staff member said they were mis marked but that they would honor it. The manager then came out a few minutes later and said they would not sell them at the advertised price. Found her to be un professional... More

Hello, we are sorry you were disappointed in your interaction with our store manager. W understand there was some confusion about basket pricing, as you are aware all of the artwork in our store is on consignment and all profit from sale is given directly back to the artist. We appreciate you pointing out our mistake and we have fixed... More

enjoyable experience, lovely grounds, nice food and lots of interesting products to choose from. A misunderstanding with a sales staff about pricing of products was unfortunate.

A friend of mine in my coffee group in Regina,Sk said when we were on our vacation to stop in at the Merridale Cidery. My coffee friend indicated it would be a unique experience my wife and I would enjoy. It was truly a very unique and rewarding experience. Treat it as if it were a vineyard and winery that... More

Visiting from Scotland and my cousin Ian MacPhee took me here as I'd previously never been out of Victoria. It was scorching hot and we sat on the terrace. I had the Merridale Burger and it was delicious! Mmmmmmmhmmmmm! The service was great. Ian had the Ploughman's Platter and asked what drink would go best with that. Oh I wish... More
