Popped into Weirs on spec around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. Didn't have a reservation but chanced it none the less. Whilst it was busy the manager said we should be seated quickly enough. Ordered a drink at the bar and we were brought to a table in under five minutes. Ordered beef and lamb main courses which also arrived... More

We went there on a Sunday afternoon, had a wonderful dinner, the food was great. We had Lamb and Roast beef dinners, salads, appetizers; there were many families there eating, looked like the place where people go after church. I see the comments about the wait for food, It was more like home-cooked food than anything, which I know takes... More

I cannot rate this place as i did not bother staying. Last week I brought my mother (travelled from Donegal) my sister and her partner (travelled from Kildare) and partners mother (travelled from Kerry) to Mullingar for the weekend. I wanted to arrange a night out with entertainment for them so i rang around a number of places around mullingar,... More

We are so sorry this happened considering the trouble you took to get here. We can only apologies and have no excuses. We should have put up a facebook message earlier in the week, as nearly every musician in North Westmeath was at this party in Rathowen. ( It is a pity you didnt follow us to Rathowen, your guests... Called in on a busy Sunday evening, and ordered roast chicken in the hope that it would not take long to prepare. Waited 35 minutes before asking the manager to check on it. The food finally arrived 10 minutes later. I understand that delays can occur when a kitchen is busy, but this could have been advised to us when... More

Hello, I am so sorry this happened and I can't make excuses, except to say it was our busiest day since we opened our food business 7 years ago. We are not accustomed to such numbers and that was our downfall. However we have learned from our mistakes of Sunday and can now put an appropriate plan into action when... More

This restaurant is really a pub grub venue. The decor is worn and outdated. The tables are cluttered together and the service is all over the place. At least two people asked to take our order but yet one starter was served five minutes before the other - a disaster in any setting - particularly when the slow one was... More

Although "pub food" is probably a belittling term for the food that is served here. It serves very very good quality food, especially in this "reasonably priced" bracket. It has a smart & ever improving menu. There seems to be a very genuine effort to constantly improve at this establishment. It has some excellent Riojan wine at a reasonable price... More

Had a beautiful steak cooked to perfection here. Washed down by an Erdinger, which is hard to come by in most pubs. There were a few craft beers/ales for sale, but I didn't get a chance to try them. All in all, nice atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic food.
