Good lunch and fine staff!

We were pointed there by a previous guest, so on our way to Gallway from Maynooth we went. We had Pork Irish Stew and Curry Rice for lunch and continued on our journey. It was fun and the staff are really funny & kind.

Good pub food, crowded with locals and a shop selling a bit of everything, including funeral shrouds and a kind of pot scrubber my friend from Dublin had been looking for EVERYWHERE.

4 of us popped in for a lunchtime drink during our boating holiday on the way up river as well as on our return down river. This place is full of characters, including the owner, who is very welcoming, as well as all the staff. We were given photograph albums of the area's history, and wooden puzzles to complete and... We spent a very pleasent evening in this quaint old pub. The owner was most friendly as was his staff. Freely offered sausages, and the use of wooden puzzles. During the evening we browsed some old 'photo albums - relived days gone by! No TV or piped music - great. A piano player entertained us later.

We stopped here for lunch on the spur of the moment as it displays an Illy coffee sign, my favourite, and were so glad that we did. We immediately felt at home in this unusual yet typical Irish pub, with it's unique decor and friendly welcome. The food was great but even more important, especially for the ladies, the toilets were... More

In there we felt like home. We got the feel with bartender and also with the owner, who showed us some photos from history of the pub. When we were leaving he even gave us a CD of his daugter's which was by the way excellent and we immediately ordered the newer one she recorded when we got home. Also... More

We stopped at Killeen's pub just for a meal. The interior is quite fascinating - all the souvenirs, photographs, paintings, vows and verses on leaflets all over the walls make this place really unique. If I think strictly as regards cleanliness, ceiling needs to be repainted, but that would ruin the soul of that place, so let it be like... More
