Nearly missed it as it was fully booked

Been meaning to go here after hearing good reports. I rang but was told they were fully booked, but we could sit in the garden. What a delightful garden. We were provided with rugs, fortunately we did not need them and the service was good although they were very busy inside. Our food was... read more

Lunched with a friend this week. The food was all home made. The quiche and salads were lovely and the cakes fantastic. Am going back very soon.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea after reading the other reviews. We were not disappointed it was absolutely lovely. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious all washed down with good old fashioned English Breakfast tea. However the thing that really strikes a chord with me these days, is customer service, and particularly when I am with my... More

We were treated to afternoon tea today by our nieces to celebrate our Golden Wedding. What a beautiful tea rooms this is! It has had a lovely makeover since the last time we were there. The food they served us was absolutely delicious and well presented. We will definitely go there again. Well recommended.

Really pretty place for lunch, lovely location super food, pretty shop for mooching, in my eyes it's only downfall is that there are too many seats and I felt quite squashed - wouldn't like to be there on a hot day 😳

Just literally returned from having Afternoon Tea a belated birthday present from my friend. Never even been to Halstead before which, in itself, seems a lovely area with some nice property. The Afternoon Tea was VERY nice and the cakes were just divine!! I have been to lots of West End hotels for afternoon tea and can honestly say that... More

Spot on destination for an end of walk lunch or posh afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere and oddly interesting design. Great staff and food. Not that cheap; which is re-assuring!

Wow!!! Just returned home after having had one of the most delicious lunches I've had in a long time. Like a previous reviewer I had the sweetcorn fritters, and they were 'out of this world', and beautifully presented. The other members of the party were also 'raving' about their meals. Huge compliments to the chef. Such a lovely atmosphere. VERY... More

A hidden gem, food always amazing. Try the sweetcorn fritters.. Possibly the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Cakes are delicious. I do agree with other comments that it is a bit cramped. Shop there sells lovely bits and bobs. Worth booking to avoid disappointment as it gets very busy. Can't wait to go back to try... More

Had lunch here recently. Yes it was busy, but that's because it is good. GREAT food. Delicious, all home cooked to order, so yes it was a bit slow, so you need to be in good company to chat! It was slightly tight on space, but not that bad, maybe not the place to choose if you are very large!... More
