Yummy

Lovely atmosphere and setting overlooking the village centre, in an old building with great character. Traditional table set up and service, and super assortment of cakes.

We went for lunch with my wife and our children. We had a great lunch, homemade with tasty flavour including local ham sandwich, soup of the day, homemade spinash quiche ... It was delicious. Desserts were brilliant too, sponge cake, walnut cake, but my favorite was the polenta and lemon cake. The service was great and staff was very welcoming.... More

This is our favourite tea room and we always make sure we stop here whenever we are within 20/30 miles of Pembridge. Unfortunately we don't live locally, so can only visit while on holiday in the area. Our most recent visit was back at the beginning of September when we made a detour here for lunch before heading to Ludlow... More

The best afternoon tea I have ever had - and I have a a fair few! I dropped by with a group of giggling girls after a fantastic weekend canoeing in Hay-on-Wye. We were welcomed into a glorious court yard (as we had dogs) and given our menus. Nothing was too much for the delightful gentlemen serving us, they were... More

Yet another super, delicious lunch at The Olde Steppes. We always receive a warm welcome from the friendly waitresses. Hands-on keen attention from Mark and Gary ensure that this shop / restaurant and tea room will never fail.

We recently had afternoon tea at Ye Old Steppes. There is an old world atmosphere here - cosy restaurant areas and they also sell a surprisingly wide range of groceries and other items: especially a large number of Teddy Bears. We shared a scone with jam and cream - the scones are very large! - with tea. Polite and friendly... More

A must to visit this tea room, you have to visit to experience the food, service and it's setting internal and it's external setting in the Black and White Village of Pembridge, Herefordshire. Also a award winning B & B just 3 miles out of the village to spoil you as well. j

Just what a tea shop should be, great service, food and of course tea! Very welcoming fire also. I've a simple dietary requirement, no problem, the most delicious bespoke salad whipped up in quick time. A few places in Ludlow could learn from this!

The Steppes is my local village shop and tea room so I could be accused of bias, but the tearoom/restaurant is well worth a visit. It has a quaint country ambiance and the food is excellent. The staff are super friendly providing a good all round experience. It is extremely popular venue for locals and visitors to the area. Add... More

We were travelling down to Hereford last weekend to take part in a Motorcycle trek on the Saturday. We looked for somewhere en route to stop off for tea and cake and found "Ye Olde Steppes". With directions noted we found it on the Friday and we had the most wonderful warm welcome (not something bikers always receive). We ended... More
