This restaurant is very unusual. selection of food is ok and cooked well. Menu is in 4 different languages. The outside setting is very pleasant. Waiter was very helpful and pleasant. If you want something different then this is the place. This restaurant is not open on Sunday and Wednesday.

We visited Las Cuevas for lunch with our 9 month old daughter. Nobody around, the place didn't look open for business, finally found a waiter and we sat inside the caves to get the full experience! Wasn't much choice on the menu and what was on the menu was a little more expensive than other restaurants around. What we had... More

We were told of this place by friends. When we went, the place itself is fascinating, being in caves. Sadly the quality of food and service let it down badly. A friend ordered a dish called "hunters Stew", which most people would take to be just that - a stew. When it arrived it was a piece of very very overcooked... More

The Cuevas are a must to see in San Miguel. Amazing interiors dating back 300 years which gives a glimpse of how village life was before development. The staff at the restaurant showed us around & didn't pressurise us to have lunch. It was so nice we had lunch anyway! Lovely home made pate compliments of the Casa followed by... More

This is a lovely restaurant and very unusual. A bit expensive but worth the experience. It serves international cuisine.

A great little restaurant nestled in the caves of San Miguel - and great respite from the usual type of restaurant throughout the rest of Alicante and the neighbouring areas! The food isn't typically Spanish, but there's a great range and you can feel the real home-cooked taste to it too. And if you don't mind the company of a... More

The ambience was lovely and the 'dining in the cave experience' was unusual. Service was good, but the food was terrible and ultra expensive!!!! Be careful and don't eat a piece of bread that is put out on your table when you arrive...it will cost you 6Euros!!! Everything was awash in sauce and very expensive for even a nice Spanish... More

We have eaten here many times before but never reviewed the restaurant. The last time we visited was 2002 so I was keen to see how much had changed. For me, nothing, and visiting brought me back very happy memories. The location as you know is in caves although you can eat outside on the courtyard. It is cool inside... More

The setting is great. Several small cave rooms with a lovely atmosphere. The food is very basic Spanish home cooking. The service is good but English is limited it helps if you have a bit of basic Spanish.

I highly recommend a visit given the unusual setting. Whilst there, it is worth exploring out of the back door and walking over the roofs of the other caves which were used as normal domestic residences not that many years ago. It's a history worth reading about! Food is very mixed. I guess we have been about half a dozen... More
