Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, reasonable food although rather paltry portions. Lovely setting and I guess you pay a price for that within the food/portions.

My daughter and I had lunch here about three weeks ago. I had Haggis with salad, oatcakes and chutney. It was delicious, I bought some of the chutney in the shop and it has all gone because I have served it with cheese, meats, etc. The haggis was the best I have ever had. My daughter had spaghetti hoops and... More

Gosh, what a review! Thank you so much! Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit so much! We source as much as we can locally - the haggis that you had is from Houston's butchers in Dumfries, and the chutney is from Galloway Lodge in Gatehouse of Fleet. Sorry about not having jam to sell by the jar -... More

This is my favourite cafe by far. They have plenty of food for the allergy sufferer and will always listen to the customer when they tell you their allergies. The staff are always friendly and smiling. The food is lovely especially their puddings!!

Hello, and thank you so much for this review! Delighted that you enjoyed eating with us - we have real experience of lactose intolerance and coeliac disease in our team and know just how difficult it is for food intolerance sufferers to eat out safely and confidently. Beautiful wee town with a lovely tea room & shop, right next to sweetheart abbey. If you're a tea conisouire you'll love this place, there are so many to choose from. Liked how you got your own wee tea pot, with an extra pot of hot water. It was pouring with rain when we visited, however it was still stunning.... More

Stopped off for a drink whilst visiting the Abbey. The scones are some of the best I have tasted definitely recommend. Very friendly staff.

Hello, and thank you for your review. Delighted that you liked our scones - they're baked fresh on the premises every morning, and served with our own homemade jam. You can have a go at baking them yourself, if you like - the recipe is in our 'Home & Hearty' cookbook, More

We visited with a motorcycle training course, 18 of us in all. The staff were well able to cope with the sudden influx of bikers! This cafe is in a lovely location, next to Sweetheart Abbey and has a large car park adjacent to the cafe. Quant and comfortable and was an ideal 'tea stop' for us. We visited with... More

Delighted to hear that everybody enjoyed their morning tea break! If you'd like to get in touch and let us know when you'll be back in September, we can put it in the diary. That way we can guarantee to have the scones out of the oven, and the teapots ready to be filled :-) I don't think trip advisor... More

Nestled in the village of New Abbey, and in the shadow of Sweetheart, Abbey cottage tearooms is a superb place for eats and treats. After visiting the Abbey we decided to have a bite at the nearby cafe and were pleased we did. Lovely day so sat in the garden overlooking the Abbey ruins with our dog. Waitress was friendly and even brought him some bits of ham. Food was excellent
