We love the dragon, this is why we return so much. You can tell the owners care about there customers with the right atmosphere, setting and friendly customer service you receive when you walk through the door. The menu is beautifully put together with so much choice and all the information you need to help decide on what to have.... More

Drive past this place on my way to work and have always liked the look of it so called in here looking for a decent Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed! Had the mackerel pate to start and the beef for my main, perfect portion sizes, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The service was great especially as the place... More

We have visited on several occasions before so I should add a review as we have never been disappointed. On this occasion we ate in the late afternoon with our daughter and grandchildren. The sun was shining so we ate in the garden by the canal. The service was very good, the beer extremely well kept and the food excellent... More

Went for lunch with a school friend, both in our 70's. Very fond of fish but did not want battered cod and chips so the young waiter suggested he asked the chef to cook the cod without batter and substitute the chips with new potatoes. This is exactly what we got and I have to say that the presentation was... More

We have enjoyed several visits to The Dragon, and will keep coming back. A lovely pub with good quality fresh food (the fish & chips are fabulous!), a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and a very good manager, Rick. Set in a lovely location, overlooking the Trent & Mersey canal, it's the best pub for miles around! Would highly recommend a... More

Visited here for the first time today, meeting up with friends after a tour of the Toyota plant. Had a drink in the bar first, excellent range of local and guest beers, one friend particularly enjoyed the Marmoset beer. Sadly some of our group then had to leave for home but the 6 of us that remained enquired about stopping... More

We joined friends for a Sunday lunchtime drink to see what the pub was like. This was our first visit. We then decided to see if we could have lunch there. The staff were great, with no booking and they were really busy, they managed to fit us in after just a 20 minute wait. We were shown to a... More

I have been here a few times in the past, per-extension. And, I've never had a bad word to say, but on this occasion The Dragon didn't live up to my expectations. It was busy, so we did expect a slight delay on food, but we did have to wait a while. The value for money, we thought wasn't fantastic.... More

Thanks for your review and thank goodness for Adam! Very disappointed to read some of your comments. Glad you thought the quiche was tasty though and enjoyed it. As you can imagine, we were really, really disappointed to read about you overhearing a member of staff! Thank goodness we didn't overhear them! Not sure what happened with your quiche size/portion,... More

Great food, always a good variety of real ale on tap. Shep, one of the owners is good with the customers, Rick the bar manager has a great character and manners to match. Girls behind the bar are stunning. Great atmosphere. Only drawback is the service when busy but that is the same in any restaurant. Always a good place... More
