Description: In the heart of Willington village backing on to the Trent and Mersey...
In the heart of Willington village backing on to the Trent and Mersey canal, the dragon is the area's favourite destination for diners, drinkers, walkers and boaters alike. the dragon, is a 150 year old pub with character, charm and a warm welcome and has recently been sympathetically renovated and restored. The introduction of our new beer garden at the back of the dragon, on the edge of the canal, is a big hit with locals and visitors. There is nowhere quite like it on a sunny afternoon. Awarded the "Best Out Town" Pub/Restaurant in Derby the menu is a classic mix of traditional britsh cuisine with a tist of quality that will not disappoint. A large range of cask ales, fine wine and thirst quenching lagers will ensure your visit will be one to remember.

Lovely Sunday lunch in great location

Great menu, nice range of options to choose from. Lots of space to sit outside beside the pretty canal with my sisters dog enjoying herself too :)

I know this review goes against many but it is a genuine review. Feel free to check out my others. We visited sat 26th April about 4pm. Food was good but the whole experience totally let down by staff. We arrived With the dog. We were unsure where to sit due to dog. Three chatting staff near by all ignored... More

Travelling back from Nottingham we thought it would be nice to stop for lunch. Nice menu with excellent choice, food was lovely. Friendly and helpful staff made the visit even more memorable. Big pity was the Peroni not tasting quite right maybe the pipes need cleaning, the Coors Light and Sharps Pilsner tasted the same which was disappointing.

We called in without reserving a table. Not a problem and we were seated after the special's board was pointed out. Lovely varied menu. I had the steak and mushroom pie off the specials board. Lovel pastry, pleny of meat, and a small side jug of gravy. Garden overlooks the canal so we will be back to sit outside on... More

To be honest nothing I say here hasn't been said on the comments cards that The Dragon give you chance to complete. Have visited many times, sometimes for food others just for a drink. Whilst we cannot discredit the food, which is excellent, the last few meals have had the whole ambience ruined by everywhere being overly cramped; too many... More

we had lunch here on Friday with 3friends and my 3yr old daughter. We were well looked after by a tremendous lad(with a beard, sorry didn't get your name) who went out of his way to ensure my young daughter had a great dining experience. This made our experience so much easier as well - thank you very much.. Food... More
