Description: In the heart of Willington village backing on to the Trent and Mersey...
In the heart of Willington village backing on to the Trent and Mersey canal, the dragon is the area's favourite destination for diners, drinkers, walkers and boaters alike. the dragon, is a 150 year old pub with character, charm and a warm welcome and has recently been sympathetically renovated and restored. The introduction of our new beer garden at the back of the dragon, on the edge of the canal, is a big hit with locals and visitors. There is nowhere quite like it on a sunny afternoon. Awarded the "Best Out Town" Pub/Restaurant in Derby the menu is a classic mix of traditional britsh cuisine with a tist of quality that will not disappoint. A large range of cask ales, fine wine and thirst quenching lagers will ensure your visit will be one to remember.

Well known locally and it is clear why. Food is of a high standard for a pub, will visit again. Just don't try to find a parking space directly outside when it's busy, use the car park next door.

The Dragon restaurant became Rene's café as we 'umble peasants enjoyed a four course french themed meal. 'Edith' entertained us with her singing, the French Resistance managed to hide the English airmen from the 'Lt Gruber', and Rene managed to get through the evening without being shot! The food was excellent - particularly the scallops, which were cooked to perfection... More

First of all it is essential to book here because even in the early weekdays it is really busy. Because of this and the fact that meals are freshly cooked (from fresh ingredients) don't expect your food to arrive fast. it certainly worth waiting for though. In the dish I ordered the flavours were perfectly balanced and complementary. My companions... More

Visited here on Monday evening post valentines day. My other half wanted to take me "somewhere nice and different". Nice is a total understatement. We both had three courses and enjoyed every millilitre of soup, every breadcrumb, every ounce of steak, every chip, every last little bit. The food was beautiful, the service was top notch. Considering it was half... More

We arrived about 40 minutes in advance of our booking time in order to enjoy a drink before our meal. At the bar we were told that our table was already available should we wish to occupy it. We agreed this would be convenient but stressed that we did not wish to eat any earlier. Having been informed this was... More

myself and 3 friends came to dine at the dragon earlier this month having booked a table in the restaurant. We arrived early, checked in with the restaurant and said we would like a drink in the bar. We ordered a bottle of Cava and were presented with wine glasses instead of flutes, after asking for the correct glasses the... More

Food was amazing the cocktail and canopies on arrival were superb and the other three courses were equally as good, the service was fab and the candles, dimmed lights, live singer and magician created a lovely atmosphere and an all round fantastic night out with the misses.

We popped in for lunch on 6th February with the family and had an absolutely lovely lunch. The waiter was very efficient and friendly and couldn't do enough for us - he always had a smile on his face and you could see he was happy in his role. There were 5 of us in the party and we each... More
