In the heart of Willington village backing on to the Trent and Mersey canal, the dragon is the area's favourite destination for diners, drinkers, walkers and boaters alike. the dragon, is a 150 year old pub with character, charm and a warm welcome and has recently been sympathetically renovated and restored. The introduction of our new beer garden at the back of the dragon, on the edge of the canal, is a big hit with locals and visitors. There is nowhere quite like it on a sunny afternoon. Awarded the "Best Out Town" Pub/Restaurant in Derby the menu is a classic mix of traditional britsh cuisine with a tist of quality that will not disappoint. A large range of cask ales, fine wine and thirst quenching lagers will ensure your visit will be one to remember.

Me and mum hadn't been to the dragon for a while as we live a good half hour away. Thank you to all the staff, we had what I can only describe as a fantastic time! As soon as you walk in the door, such a warm welcome, smiles all round, service outstanding, food delicious.. We will certainly be back...

This nice resurrected pub is obviously very popular and doing very well but unfortunately our lovely meal was spoiled but the excessively noisy restaurant which seats about 70 people and was full when we were there last night. There is an extensive and good menu with some different tasty choices. Unfortunately I couldn't hear my wife or make myself heard... More

My first visit evening 25th March with my girlfriend, had Dragon Burger & Chicken Burger, both were excellent, the best I have ever had.Great choice of proper beers, service was brilliant, not over attentive, checked if everything was ok. We found room for dessert, both were very tasty and different. We had booked for 8.45,overheard a couple ask if it was busy every night,it is,you would be... More

Nice comfy pub. Food looked lovely unfortunately fish and chips was so greasy unable to eat. Did stress my problem to staff but nothing done to reconcile and charged full price. Won't be returning.

Been a few times and the food is excellent. The only downside was on one of our visits our table was next to the bar and the staff entrance to the function room which was being used for a party. This spoilt our visit. On the second visit I did notice that no table was in that position. Well done.... More

On recommendation we visited for lunch on 24th March 2015. We're very disappointed with the quality of the food. The chips were lukewarm and only half cooked, with some having black coloured staining. The fish was also undercooked with wet batter and greasy. The so called mushy peas can only be described as stodge. The coffees were served in cups... More

My sister and I treated our mum to lunch here for Mother's Day. We have been before several times in the evening and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. The staff, despite being quite busy, were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and cosy and each time we have been it had been busy-... More

Came for a weekday lunch with my boyfriend, the place was bustling, a great sign of how popular this place quite rightly is. Delicious lunch very reasonably priced and the pub has a great atmosphere, it's clear the staff have a very attentive and friendly attitude all-round. We both really enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be returning for their evening... More
