We visited the Red Heart for Sunday lunch with friends who had recommended it and we were not disappointed. The pub has a friendly atmosphere with ample parking in the car park or on the quiet road outside. We were met with friendly service and were served drinks straight away while we were able to choose our meals from an... More

We booked to have Sunday lunch here and were very impressed, the quality was there and the portion size too. Nice steaming hot veg brought out while it was still fresh and good cuts of meat. I would recommend a visit for a lovely beverage and a filling and scrumptious meal Happy Eating...

Finally stopped here for a Saturday lunchtime meal after passing many times and thinking it looked an attractive pub. We were glad we did! Food was very good, surpassed what we expected and was reasonably priced. Quite an extensive menu (usual pub grub with some interesting alternatives as well). My partner's chicken and leak pie was especially good and both... More

This is a pub we visit in particular for sunday lunch. It is in walking distance for us but its reputation is good locally and we think the sunday lunch is tasty and we enjoy it. In many ways, a typical local pub, never that welcoming, tolerating of "foreigners" but a reasonable place to go and have a drink and... More

We have eaten here twice in the last fortnight with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the interestingly good food and the occasional candlelight dining ( when the lights trip out for some unknown reason). We will be back next time we visit. Highly recommended

A typical English country pub. There is a warm welcome on arrival. The menu is very original and extensive.

We visited the Red Hart on a Saturday evening while on holiday in the area. Had we known how popular the place was we would have booked in advance. We were seated at a small table in the bar which was a little cramped. However this was the only negative for the evening. We were greeted by friendly staff, a... More

Not only do they not know what a proper Pavlova is as previously stated, when I asked what potatoes I had on the plate and the waiter confirmed it was boiled, I had already guessed that it wasn’t Lyonnaise as ordered, well no problem we all make mistakes, but no it got worse when the manageress told me that I... I have a different version of events that evening - firstly you asked the waiter if they were lyonnaise pots, he said they were & checked with chef. You told him to tell the chef to p** off. I did not know about this interaction when I came to you with your drinks order & asked if all was OK.... More

Must be the twelfth time that we have dined here including four Christmas day lunches. We always go with friends and we always have a good time. The food is very good and the service is excellent. Sharon and Kaushik run it as well as Guy and Louise did. It always has a pleasant atmosphere inside and on a hot... More

Having eaten there many times over the years I will not be revisiting the Red Hart. The starters were average at best - the goats cheese tartlets had clearly seen better days. The whitebait was served in a 70s style - thick coating of rather greasy breadcrumbs.. When the main courses arrived my duck breast arrived in a glutenous sauce... More

I am sorry that you felt your meal was not up to scratch - I only wish that you had allowed us to correct the issue at the time, by allowing us to prepare a fresh dish for you, but instead you sulked. I did ensure that the rest of your party were enjoying there meals -which they said they... More
