Stopped by because it seemed to be the only pub in the area that served food all day. There was only one other table in at the time so service and food were fast. Really nicely decorated inside and the food was tasty and good sized portions. Really loved the chips. Had a sandwich and it was huge! Would definately... More

Me and my partner went for a relaxing weekend away in longhope and were very lucky to be staying 2 mins walk from this little gem. We arrived late on the Friday and they were only too happy to accommodate us for food.. the pub has such a good atmosphere we ended up staying in the bar after dinner and... More

Previous reviews seem to be very positive but I am afraid my partner and I were extremely disappointed when we had a meal last night. I had chicken which was tough and chewy as were the potatoes. The fish pie had hardly any fish and was mixed with sloppy potato. We should have complained but we did not simply because... More

A very poor lunch I'm afraid. A main course serving of fish cakes consisted of two strange, small, burned fritter like objects accompanied by an over cooked poached egg that had a hard yolk. Ham sandwich was adequate - nothing more - and let down by a nasty little sachet of the worst, cheapest English mustard. Can't fault the lovely... More

This weekend we celebrated our 40th Anniversary. We have spent most of those 40 years in Longhope so we know the Farmers Boy Inn well and it was the obvious choice for our celebration. We were not disappointed. What a fabulous venue it is. We colonised the garden and the main restaurant for 8 hours. The food was excellent and... More

After a long day out and about, 6 adults, 2 children and 1 baby arrived, hungry, tired and with no booking on Tues at 6pm, the service was fabulous and the food was excellent. All eight of us cleared our plates and although the portion sizes are generous, we all wanted to have pudding due to the quality of the... More

So better half and myself were recommended to the Farmer's Boy by a friend who loves his food and his pies. Reading the reviews we decided to book for a night following a days walking nearby. It is not the most attractive place from the outside but this masks an olde worlde interior which is both welcoming and comfortable. We... More

We had a special birthday party at The Farmers Boy on May 3rd what a great evening we had. The food was exceptional and the effort they made to decorate the area and the table was so much appreciated. A few weeks later it was our grandsons 16th birthday as a family we went there again and again it was... More

Visited the farmers boy a couple of weeks ago with work (15 of us). We preordered our food, which came out very quickly, all at the same time. The half and half pie was fab, and the chips to die for! A lovely atmosphere and our host was very friendly, we couldn't want for anything. Would visit again and highly... More
