We went twice to this restaurant, primarily because they made us the the three dogs more than welcome. A lovely homely feel about the place, a cosy, but not snug bar area and a lovely restaurant area. The bar staff made a real fuss of the dogs and through out our two dining experiences went that extra mile for us.... More

Visited here on Mothering Sunday, and was VERY impressed with the food, staff and the pub itself! Loved the warm, cosy feel with the low ceilings with the exposed beams. The staff were friendly and welcoming, too! They had a good menu, but without a doubt more for the pie lovers, they have many to pick from, good luck choosing!... More

I had dinner at the Farmers Boy Inn having not visited the place for a good number of years, It used to be known as a bit of a "spit and sawdust" drinker's pub, but then a few years ago started serving food of the very basic pub grub variety. What a transformation! This is now a "gastropub". The quality... More

We popped in to The Farmer's Boy one night for dinner because it was one of very few places open on a Sunday night and we loved it so much we were back on Monday, and Wednesday - and the week following! The staff are warm, friendly, welcoming and fun and the food is great. We have recently moved to... More

Had lunch with my parents here this week, whilst then pub was quiet the barman was v welcoming and the menus looked good. 2 of us had the standard size pie which was plenty big enough for lunchtime and probably for an evening meal. Steak and guiness with black pudding on top was absolutely delicious and definately the best pie... More

Usually I have the fish pie when I visit The Farmers Boy but last Monday night it was not on the menu so we had fish and chips instead. I didn’t necessarily expect it to be fresh fish on a Monday but something from the freezer would have been OK. It arrived massively overcooked and when we said this to... More
