Welcome to The Award Winning Farmer's Boy Inn Longhope Simply put, we love food. Not just for what it is, but for the experience that accompanies it. Homely surroundings, great company and conversation, attentive waiters, who become friends and of course fine wines from around the world. After an evening of gastro food delights, gourmet pies and laughter in front of the open fire retire to our courtyard of boutique individually designed rooms and drift off, to wake up to the sounds, sights and smells of the idyllic Gloucestershire countryside. Followed of course by a hearty breakfast and maybe a stroll up the majestic May Hill

Try one of their pies. Excellent!

Ten of us booked for a meal on Sunday afternoon. Excellent service from an attentive and friendly member of staff. Unsurprisingly we all went for pies - the Farmer's Boy is renowned for their 2 in 1pies. Wild boar and cider, steak & Guinness and cauliflower cheese, steak & Guinness, chicken and... read more

Wow, the pies on offer are just beautiful. The food was exceptional, the staff were very kind, friendly, helpful in every way and the bar staff were excellent to chat to. It is a dog friendly pub and our little dog loved staying with us in our room as we don't like to leave him with family if we choose... More

stopped here for lunch out of curiosity as not been in this establishment since I was young. We were very impressed with the extensive and imaginative menu and thoroughly enjoyed our pies, veg and chips, we had to try some pie as they had a claim to fame, We weren't disappointed with the choices we made and equally enjoyed our... I visited as a last minute alternative due to somewhere else being fully booked. The menu surprised me with how many options there were, I indecisively went with a 2 in 1 pie but actually felt like it was overhyped. The cauliflower cheese was watery and only had a handful of chips on the side which was disappointing. Our waitress... More

Stopped at the tea shop this morning for coffee. Our waitresses understanding iof English was so poor that she did not understand 'americano' or 'scone'. We eventually made ourselves understood by pointing at the menu and display cabinet. She could not work out how to open the serving tongs so placed the scones on the plates with her fingers after... 4 friends meeting for our monthly lunch, A lovely, traditional pub with loads of character. Only main courses to be reported but everyone was delighted with their choice from a very comprehensive menu and a good board. I had the "Andy Murray" pie, which could have been called the "Desperate Dan" pie. It was superb, full of flavour and a... More

This is the second time I've called in at the Farmers Boy although the last time was a couple of years ago. It has a nice country location with an olde world traditional theme which I like. A Tea room has been added which looks rather nice. Outside is a spacious garden with ample seating to enjoy being outside weather... More

This a place to visit when staying in Ross on Wye just 5 miles out the food is great and they even offer a transfer service a must if you want to try the wines and local beer. I can't complain about anything a wide selection of food and if just a little dear worth the investment.

We dined at The Farmers Boy whilst staying in Longhope. We both had pie, I had the wild boar and cider my husband the steak and kidney. We both agreed they were amongst the nicest pies we have had. The staff were very friendly and the service good.
