Oh the mussels...

Great mussels gratin and amazing camembert flavored mussels! Great service in a cosy environment. Only downside was the ile flottante as desert, clearly not fully home made which was a bit of a surprise. We ll be back and will just skip desert.

Close by le Bois de Moutiers and on the main road, so we stumbled upon it. Very pretty building and charming interior. We were lucky to get the last table and enjoyed a delicious meal, with excellent service, even though it was a busy day.

stopped off for lunch on an out of season Tuesday after Bois de Moutiers visit to get the last free table and be surrounded by French families. Enjoying the good fresh seafood, fish and a steak, well prepared and presented.

If you are visiting the famous gardens at Le Bois de Moutier then this is an useful spot for lunch. Pleasant terrace if the weather is fine. Service was a bit diffident and the food, especially the Moules Frites, adequate but nothing more.

The actual setting of the restaurant was beautiful however it was let down completely by seafood that was surprisingly not fresh (the crab and the langoustines weren't great at all). One of the waitresses was rude and took ages to clear the table. Wouldn't come again.

We were advised to visit this lovely restaurant by the owner of the national collection of hydrangeas in France whose garden is just a short drive away. What a gastronomic delight! There were groups of families with young children so this is not a stuffy place...no it is just a lovely place to visit and enjoy the excellent fare.

The L'Auberge is in a pretty village close to the sea, which also houses a house built by Edwin Lutyens which is a popular tourist attraction. Given that the house and garden don't have their own café and restaurant, the Auberge does very well from visitors. Sadly although the setting - particularly outside - is beautiful, the food is somewhat... More

Stopped here, looking for a light, simple lunch before continuing our journey. My moules were OK, but the chips were soggy and greasy. My partner's warm chèvre salad was nothing exceptional, but after a few mouthfuls was just too much of the same thing, with no highlights. We ordered ciders, and were asked if we would also like water. Although... More

We stopped here after visiting the local sights - the parc des moustiers, Manoir de Jango and church where Braques and Roussel are buried, It is a very good local French restaurant with good service, plenty of fish and a good choice of dishes.

This is the restaurant local to where we stayed in nearby Longueil. We have eaten there several times over the years but it changed hands just over a year ago and this was our first visit since. Very little English is spoken but fortunately our friend speaks excellent French. It is friendly and comfortable with the main seating area being... More
