very french, very good

lunch here was definitely a highlight of my visit. when you think of french food and french cooking, you think of (and can imagine tasting) wonderful flavours and sauces. well, that's the kind of food you will eat here. and it's always a good sign to see a board with "today's specials... read more

Received a warm welcome and managed to get the last available table for lunch. My friends both enjoyed the delightful lamb shank and I chose the octopus salad which was fantastic! All this was followed by three affogatos - yummy! The Owner deserves to make lots of money - he works so hard and is so amiable. The toilet facilities... More

Decided for a dinner up in the mountains above Nice and the cozy city of La Turbie. Immediately we meet the owner of the restaurant who gave us a perfect guide through the traditional French menu! The food was excellent for all of us and we tried dishes like coq au vin, tagliata de boeuf and a duck. A good... More

I have had a house in south of france for 12 years, and my hobby is good food so i know and try to visit all the good restaurants in the south of france area each time I am back in france. I highly highly recommend La Cave Turbiasque for lunch or dinner. My meals were all exceptional. I went... More

Just called in on the off chance for some coffee and hot chocolates. Owner welcomed us and despite the fact it was Boxing Day and full, we were very welcome. Had a good chat with the owner who was actually a diner sitting with friends on the table next to us. We liked the environment, lots of locals, really clean... More

I called for a reservation and was told the only table left was next to the kitchen. This was not a problem for me since I am a cook and visit every kitchen anyway. When we arrived the owner expressed his gratitude for taking the last table with a complementary glass of champagne. From then on we had a rolling... More

My husband and I stopped here because we were starving while driving along the coast one Sunday afternoon in October. What a surprise! The owner/chef was so interesting and inviting we ended up staying for hours and having shots of 'digestifs' (lol). We took his recommendation for wine and lunch and it was fantastic. I had a delicious pumpkin soup... More

we had breakfast there and the service was awful. no patience, no customer service at all, the girl that served us was really unpolite. I would not recommend it at all.

very busy on a Friday night and seemed slightly understaffed but service was friendly if a bit leisurely . The cooking is a of a high standard with clear highlights being the excellent fish dishes over the more routine pasta and fowl ....definitely worth a visit .

Ok - we were brought to lunch here by friends who come here often, but the food was just super. We all had something different and everything was fantastic. Cant wait to come back.
