Great local restaurant

Excellent restaurant with tempting quite extensive daily special menu. All cooked fresh. Staff are especially professional and efficient. Excellent value and a good location high above the main tourist spots. I eat here every time I visit Nice.

We had pre booked a few days in advance for lunch and on arrival found both inside & outside very busy with a mixture of tourist locals & business, we were seated outside under the welcome shade of the canopy and presented with the lunch menu of the day, choice was 5 options for starter & main with meat fish... We have eaten in the cafe dozens of times. They are always busy as they offer good food and great value. The menu changes daily, but there are staples such as Steak Frites which are always available.

We loved Cafe de la Fontaine. It was our favourite restaurant during two weeks in France. It serves traditional, authentic French food that is simply delicious and well priced. We wanted to try everything on the menu and did our best over four nights! No disappointments for us. And did I mention service? We enjoyed gracious, welcoming and prompt service... More

This restaurant is great as a solid, classic French brasserie style food choice. Very reasonably priced for the riviera. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke great English. The location is great for car watching to and from Monaco. We would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others.

We were a party of 6, we were all delighted with our choices, the wine and location, some village-y activity going on on a summer eve, all very nice. Friendly service and fairly priced....... would go back again in a shot ! There is a bar almost opposite with wonderful hilltop views....... a sharpener works well there before dinner..... (well... The menu is traditional French fare - not that well suited for summer. The fish dish was one of the best I have had but mashed potato and steamed vegetables were odd accompaniments when the outside temperature is 30 degrees +. The house red was OK and the desert of cherry clafoutis was generous and tasty.

After all the fantastic views we looked forwar to visit this restaurant but it was really dissapointing. The menu was very like winther with mashed potato in july. Not really for the season. The vegetable very completely boiled out. My daughter who is a vegetarian so we asked for a salad beside her mushroom and got 4 lettuce leafs. Never again.

Good food, prompt service. We came here for lunch a few days ago and visited tonight for dinner. Busy casual place. The only comment is that menu of daily specials has not changed much in a few days. Dishes were brought almost immediately which makes me think that food is pre cooked and dished and not freshly cooked.
