Phuket is a food desert. Rent a car and go to Raya. You will be happy you did. We got the famous crab curry - sensational. And tamarind prawns / pad thai - best I've ever had. Washed down w/fresh watermelon juice. Seriously, just go.

Well rated restaurant in centre of Phuket town. Slightly run -down house serving good quality Thai food with some Chinese influences. Range of Phuket favourites like fish balls and crab meat curry. Worth a trip.

The best you will get and I have been coming to Phuket for several years now. You must have the stew pork, crab meat curry and shrimp in Tamarind sauce. This lives up to the it's star rating and is must any food enthusiast

Try the dishes here. A Must Eat includes crab curry and stew pork. The dishes are spicy and does not taste like the usual Thai food you tasted in Bangkok.

We visited Raya on the recommendation from a Thai friend last Monday and had to return for a second time before we left on Friday! This is a real gem serving very fine Thai cuisine in a lovely old house in the middle of old Phuket Town. There were some tourists like us but most of the clientele were locals.... More

Very pleasant evening spent ina wonderful building. Some lovely dishes served in a promptand efficient manner. Friendly staff and won't break the bank. A little disappointed in the fried fish, tasted amazing but slightly anorexic, so you mainly enjiy the crispy topping. Other than couldn't fault it.

.. what can i say about this little restaurant?? i visited Raya twice during my fairly short stay in Phuket (and my hotel was not close to Phuket town at all. I'd guess that this establishment has been in the business for over thirty years (from its decorations, building style, etc.). but above all is their amazing food - tasty... More

Raya has the reputation for THE best Phuket-style Thai food to be found on the island, and our visit last night certainly supported it's reputation. The justly famous coconut crab curry was a triumph, and most generous with crab, also the pork and pepper stew, and Thai stir fried vegetables with dried shrimp were outstanding. Not as thrilled with the... More

We were a bit surprised after seeing the prices mentioned onto the menus however more surprised when the food was delivered to our table as the quality, portion size and taste were extremely good. Worth it!!!
