We had a superb meal at the Blue Elephant. Great Thai food options, an interesting specialty dishes complimented by an extensive wine list. We were offered an appetizer sample for free upon being seated, The governor's mansion makes for a beautiful ambience, with options for indoor A/C or outdoor seating.

A group of us went there as a treat and the food was exquisite. The restaurant is beautifully presented and everything of a high standard. Our one difficulty was ordering an Aperol Spritz. After some discussion and explanation that it had prosecco as well, a small glass arrived with aperol and champagne. There was no ice or slice of orange.... More

We went to this restaurant on a Friday night and the building itself is stunning! The restaurant was quiet so staff were very attentive. Food was delightful (pricey yes, as other reviewers have said but you are paying for the service, venue, amazing linen napkins, cutlery etc) My only gripe was that whilst the staff are all so friendly and... Don't write many reviews, but felt compelled to write following our recent visit. The venue itself is a lovely colonial building, and the expectations were high - sadly the restaurant didn't deliver. The reception was luke warm (similar to the food). We opted for the Christmas set tasting menu which was probably one of the most expensive meals we had... More

Two of us arrived and were seated promptly out on beautiful veranda at 8:30pm. We ordered drinks which arrived at 9:05. Our server apologized; saying she had many tables, both inside and out. The drinks had been sitting somewhere so long, they were dripping all over the table from the condensation. We ordered 2starters, and the prawn ravioli bisque soup.... More

The staff were very sweet, but that could not makeup for the vastly disappointing meal. When the amuse buche arrived I knew I was in for a dinner full if under seasoned over cooked food. The kitchen spent too much to time focusing of perfect bruinois and dices instead of actually making the food taste good. The chef should be... More

A very expensive Christmas menu that probably tasted great when it was prepared but not anymore when served... Soups weer OK, tasteful. The meat of the main courses however was very dry and not worth being eaten anymore. Also the wrong meat dish was being served after the staff was very helpful first as they made it possible to exchange... More

The restaurant itself is actually an old colonial mansion which used to be the governor's residence, I am given to understand.....very nostalgic of the bygone English colonial era....The table setting, chinaware and silverware are very classy. The taste of their food is as stated by many reviewers, disappointing - the food I have tasted at the night market is actually... More
