We went as a large party of 9 and were surprised that the choice was the normal menu together with a special menu. Don't know how they did it but the food was excellent, served hot and delicious. The owner was evident all evening welcoming people to the pup and all the staff were friendly and polite. We will definately... More

Largish family table for ten accommodated and nicely laid out. Beautiful village and the Ship Inn sits at the heart with a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Good choice of food and nothing to be faulted and nothing complained about afterwards. Just one minor drawback - the service was a tad slow. This was a busy Christmas Sunday however and so... More

We went with doubts about the customer service pledges on the pub web-site, but for once they were not just empty words. The staff were welcoming and everyone was friendly and helpful. The food is of a very high standard, but at reasonable prices, there are decent real ales and the wines on offer are good. Dogs are made very... More

We dined here for the first time, despite having lived in the area for several years, and had a great evening. The bar area was warm and friendly, busy with locals (always a good sign), had some good local hand pumped ales and an open fire. The dinner menu showed a good choice of options with an additional specials menu... More

We went The Ship Inn for the first time in a while yesterday and the food, atmosphere and service was superb as it has been every time we have visited. We were in a party of 10, of mixed ages including children, and the Sunday lunch we had was outstanding. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

Been here several times and never fails to disappoint. Great beer, delicious food (don't miss Sunday's roast beef or the pie!). Roaring fire in the winter and beer garden in the summer - what more do you need? Dog and kid friendly.

One of the best country pubs around in a lovely little village. I can't rate the food and service highly enough. Absolutely amazing. Also very dog friendly as well.

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, roaring fire, great food, very helpful and attentive staff. The roast beef was the best I have had for ages, we will be back again very soon :-D

What a find this pub is, from the roaring fire as you walk in, the warm welcome from behind the bar and proper british pub grub. This pub really does have it all, you can wander in with your dog, sit in front of the fire and warm up drinking a pint of excellent ale, or if you are hungry... More
