Doggy people must try this

We visited this little pub/b&b just for a quick lunch on the way back to Wales; They allowed us to bring in our 4 Bedlington Terriers, gave us a warm welcome and dished up a very tasty and well cooked meal at a competitive price. Thank you for your nice comment. Great to see you gorgeous bedlingtons. I'm sorry you didn't notice the snacks. They aren't very prominent at the moment, but we do sell Schmackos and Rodeos for our canine customers. Regards J More

The food is obviously made fresh and totally home made. They even tell you where they source the local produce, and it is a long list.

Lovely pub for locals and visitors. Wonderful beer brewed out the back. All food is locally sourced as much as possible. We had a delicious Sunday roast which could not be faulted

Looking for a cosy place to have some Sunday evening food and came across this little gem in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly with the place busy with locals and visitors had a delicious starter of baked cheese and crusty bread sat at the bar whilst playing backgammon. Main was homemade stark... More

I think we chose a bad day to visit and I doubt it's like that all the time, which is why my rating isn't lower. We arrived within lunch hours and ordered a selection of sandwiches. The landlord was really friendly and welcoming but we had to wait about 40 minutes for our sandwiches! The landlord did come over and... More

A pleasant pub in a beautiful village with a small dining room which was very busy when we visited. It's not a huge menu but there's more than enough to choose from the hot dishes or the sandwiches/baguettes. Friendly service and delicious food, though a bit slow arriving - not surprising considering it's all prepared fresh from mostly very local... More

Stopped off to have a quick look at the castle whilst passing through. We noticed that dogs were welcome so thought we would try it. Micro brewed beer onsite. Food is decent pub grub. Bar staff and locals friendly.

Did just that - didn't stay over. Visited during evening mid-week. Bar lively, noisy - good, that's what pubs are meant to be. Food was very good but bar noise, in restaurant part, a bit obvious but not off putting. A good, traditional rural pub of the kind that are fast disappearing. We must patronise such places or they will... More
