Another one bites the dust, was once one of the best places in the area to go, but now sadly closed due to people's changing social habits, cheap alcohol in supermarkets and greedy pub companies

We arrived on October 25th to find posters up in the window saying that the freeholders had made safe the building, but that the lease had not been removed. No clue as to when it will reopen, but it is currently not open for business.

I thought I would try the White Lodge as others have reccomended it. The young waitress was such a nice person, she could not do enough for us but I thought the food was like all other pubs, nothing spectacular but there was plenty of it. Its a lovely old pub and by the photo on the wall it was... More

Great traditional pub grub and extremely efficient service. We only live down the road and we will now visit more often.

Some friends and I had wanted some steak and ale pie and knew this pub served it. So we stopped in for a visit. What a wonderful old place! Not gaudy or trendy, just a solidly British traditional pub. Most of us had the pie, and one had the spaghetti. It was all very good, with good gravy for pouring.... More

I've eaten here a number of times of the past few years and never had a bad meal. The fish and chips, the steak, and the curry are all first rate. Desserts are wonderful (tonight's plum crumble was especially good.) The atmosphere is also top notch, with a real traditional pub feel. David is a gem and the staff is... More

I ordered the Steak and Ale pie, my partner had the Ham, Egg and Chips. The Pastry on the steak pie was burnt on the top and the "encased pastry" underneath was doughy and not cooked. The chips were undercooked and raw in the middle. I was offered a choice of Vegetables or Peas, I asked for the Peas but... More

This is not a spanking new gastro-pub but a traditional English pub & thankfully I doubt if the ringing of the microwave bell will ever permeate the atmosphere. £50 for two main meals, accompanied by several large(ish) glasses of wine & soft drinks. We had a mixed grill & mushroom risotto. Partner was very happy with quality of his food.... More

Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal last night ,could have been in top class venue, young ladies serving us were very friendly ,attentive ,fast service but not hurried, nice surroundings , will be returning soon. They have got the price right lots of pubs are just up themselves with high prices ,but still a pub ,very good luck to them.

We had a terrible drive from Kent to Attleborough causing us to be an hour late for an appointment. We set off on our return journey at 2.45 hoping to be able to get some lunch but not holding out too much hope. We saw the pub by chance and stopped to investigate, what a surprise! We were greeted by... More
