We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of the villa where we were staying which was only a two minute drive. As the weather was beautiful we opted to sit out on the terrace to eat, the views are simply stunning. The two brothers who served us were very attentive, one of them had worked in England, so his... I tried several times this restaurant, once more I've found a good service, a plenty of choice of good foods, either traditional or new. The seeing is wonderful and the interior of the restaurant is very characteristic: you're truly inside a real middle age castle. The cakes are fantastic and my daughter ask everytime we come in the area to... More

This was the most local of local restaurants offering a really good taste of the best Italian cuisine. Including one evening when all we needed was Caprese and a bottle of Pecorino white wine which was quite delicious. He catered for me as a gluten intolerant without complaint and even made from scratch Aubergine Parmigiano which would normally include gluten.... More

We had mix antipasti platters to share, 2 first dishes (gnocchi and risotto) and a main course. Some of us had dessert. Digestives and liqueurs on... More

We drove from Spoleto, Umbria on a Sunday to meet up with friends from Rome and had lunch at Il Cortigiano. This restaurant is in an enviable position, firstly it is in the hilltop town of Castel San Pietro, surrounded by olive trees with a view on the horizon of Farfa Abbey. There was a wide selection of antipasti including... More

Time seems to have stopped at Castel San Pietro, a tiny and enchanting medieval village in lower Sabina, just 40 km from Rome. Ristorante il Cortigiano is managed by a friendly family who have succeded in offering great meals at great prices. Everything is local, from the olive oil to the wine, the menu is simple but offers a a... More
