Arroz de cabidela is excelent, arroz de pato, pato no forno... as sobremesas e as entradas, all great! There is little to add to all these excellent reviews, except that the owner is a story-teller by profession (!) and can be hired... The fellows knows all kinds of historical regional "fairy tales" by heart and will entertain for hours... There's one drawback however, he speaks portuguese only! One of the best places to eat typical Portuguese food in the centre of the country. The roasted duck and "chicken blood rice" are the house special dishes.

Fantastic food with a family atmosphere. From starters to desserts passing throught the home made dishes made with house raised ducks and chickens.

We spent 3 days in Figueira da Foz staying with a local friend who took my wife and myself to Casa Amenio for lunch. He was justifiably proud of the quality of the cooking and the restaurant itself. It is set in the quaint but typical village of Montemor-o-Velho and looks nothing from the street. There is no outside seating... More
