Another pleasant evening tonight in The Pheasant with my wife and children. We had a £20 two-person steak platter with a starter and 2 sides. We also benefited from their 'kids eat free' deal tonight because it is midweek. Couldn't be bettered for families! We have had 8 or 10 very good meals in The Pheasant over the past two... More

We dined with friends at The Pheasant and found the service slow and the food not on a par with The Plough at Hillsborough which is a sister restaurant. The steak was not very well cooked and my wifes was very tough and sent back. Would not dine there again but would go to the Plough as only ever had... More

I live quite close to the Pheasant and would visit every month or two with my wife and two young kids. I have to say in all the time I have been going here I have never, ever had anything to complain about. To be fair the service can sometimes be a little slow - which is fine if you... More

I went here for my wifes birthday. The food was less than ok. My main course however was totally tasteless. It was supposed to be a thai curry. Terrible, The couple beside me were complaining about the service, and the other couple to our left as we left asked the staff whether what they were eating was supposed ot be... More

My pregnant fiancé and myself headed out for a little Sunday dinner, I had been recommended this establishment by someone at work. When I arrived it was beautifully situated in the countryside (well for someone from belfast it felt like it). Easily found a parking space. Warmly welcomed at the door and brought to our seats. The menu was superb,... More

Two daughters went for chilli beef strips starter, my wife went for the pork belly starter and I had the Brie starter.......all very nice........not too big.....just right. I booked The Pheasant for my work Christmas do for 50 people. I had not been to this restaurant before but I researched several venues and at £18.95 for a three course lunch, a great menu selection and solid reputation, they seemed the best choice for us. To accommodate such a large party we were seated in the function room... More

Having dined in the restaurant on the 29th November 2014 in the company of a recently retired catering lecturer (with 30 years experience) we were delighted with both the food and the service. I have to compliment both the chefs and the service staff for what was a very enjoyable evening. We could not have faulted it in any way.... More

Only fault was my boyfriend ordered the chowder for starter and when it arrived the bowl was 3/4 empty. And when he enquired about this the waitress agreed and he had to wait at least 10 minutes for another one to arrive so we believe he got the end of the pot. He was still charged for it

Went for dinner - 4 girls sat 22nd nov - food was good as always but the service which has never been great was awful. Glasses weren't cleared off table and everything was done in a way which made you feel like you were putting the staff out. Asked for bill which came but no one came back for 20... More
