After a long drive to see my Mum who lives nearby the Pheasant we stopped off for some Bar food because we were having a family meal later that night. When we arrived in the Bar we were told that there was only a Sunday menu available. I asked if we could not just get a panini, burger or a... More

Came for the steak special, place was packed, and although service was a wee bit slow all the staff were working as fast as they could, and couldn't have been more pleasant. When the steaks came out, the sirloin was lovely, the rump, very chewy, we said to the manager who got us a new one, no questions asked, happy... More

We had lunch at this restaurant. The menu choice was fairly standard pub/restaurant fare, however where they score is in the presentation of the food. For example the burgers were well cooked and moist with choice of different accompaniments, i.e not just fries. The service was a little erratic, though a certain degree of this could be put down to... More

We have been here 3 times recently and on all 3 occassions the food had been great quality and well presented. We enjoy the steak sharing platter but have also shared a chicken curry meal as one of us found it too much on a previous occassion especially following a starter. Staff were flexible, courteous and helpful. The food is... More

The Pheasant is a comfortable, well set out restaurant. Their early bird is very good value and they have a separate menu for "Gluten Free". Also nothing is too much trouble and they will alter the main menu to accommodate Coeliacs. Service can be a bit slow if the restaurant is very busy, but sit back and enjoy your surroundings... More

Called into the Pheasant for an early dinner on the way home from a day out. Lovely food, we had the steak sarnie, tipsy bull burger and prawn pitta. The Greek feta salad side was not great, the feta wasn't actually feta but tasted like cubes of cream cheese- which was rather odd. Service was very pleasant if a little... More

I went to the Pheasant for friend's birthday dinner. I am a pescetarian so eat fish but no other meat. There were several tasty-looking seafood dishes but I was disappointed to see that there were absolutely no vegetarian dishes - so don't bring any veggie friends! I ordered one dish and then at the last minute changed my mind as... More

Hi Anna, Thank you for such a positive review. We really appreciate it! In terms of our selection of vegetarian dishes, we actually have full separate Vegetarian & Gluten Free menus available. Many customers praise us for our wide selection of dishes! We hope to see you again soon, and now that you know we have a separate menu to... More

After a really special day at Down Royal Races, we decided to find a nice place to eat locally, have a few drinks and settle down for the evening in our motorhome. We located this lovely rural pub/restaurant (with the help of Tripadvisor) with a large busy carpark, which clearly stated that members of the public parked there at their... More

Dear Customer, We do apologise for any inconvenience caused to you & your husband. However, we were only looking out for your own safety and abiding by company policies. As you mentioned, none of our staff were aware that you had planned to stay over in our car park. If they had, the situation would've been rectified immediately. As I'm... More

Never been here before but had heard good things so gave it a go and not ddisappointed. Had a fabulous first course of medallions of hog, Mediterranean vegetables, olive oil mash and a lovely peppery sauce. Chose pear and cardamon crumble for dessert and this is where my only criticism comes in, have never had pastry round a crumble before... More

In some respects it is quite difficult to categorise this restaurant. Having looked at the range of items on the menu I think the best conclusion to arrive at is that it is a fascinating example of a "fusion" experience. The good basics of a traditional Northern Ireland pub-restaurant are all present, i.e.. steak in its varied forms, but if... More
