An enjoyable dining experience

Our April ‘ladies wot lunch’ outing took us to Donaghadee where we sampled the delights of Pier 36. Our visit to this little pub / restaurant was prompted by the recommendation of one of the group who had been there before and this recommendation was backed up by the very positive reviews on... read more

Lunchtime with a hangover, a cool glass of Sauvignon for the hairy dog and a big delicious beefy burger with blue cheese and well done bacon for me. Mind and body restored... the afternoon was much less a struggle.

We had a friends reunion over the weekend. Stayed in Newtownards and it was just a short taxi journey to pier36. Fantastic welcome the minute we walked in. Great menu. Had the halibut (on the specials menu) cooked perfectly. They had lovely"mini indulgence' desserts yummy!! Great wine list too. The staff were obviously well informed on the menu and very... More

Followed by the duck which was cooked to perfection and served with a beautiful red wine jus. The staff were so friendly and attentive and had a great knowledge of the menu. The... More

I had the mussels for starters which was lovely, no complaints there but the portions were slightly on the small side. My partner ordered chicken wings which was VERY poor. A few wings, tiny in size, wasn't even spicy. For mains I had the scallops and pork belly, scallops were fresh and good sized, pork belly could have been more... More

Our most recent Sunday lunch was not as good as on previous occasions. Staff still very good but the food was not well presented this time. This restaurant, which is open to the public and not just those staying there, is bigger and more interesting inside than it looks from the outside.
