Lovely thin crust pizzas in a lovely little town. Good service. Although surprisingly quiet when we visited. Would recommend.

This was the BEST pizza we had in all of our travels through Italy. We were sent to the restaurant by a local wine and olive oil producer who told us the pizza chef was an award winner. After eating his pizza, it was not hard to see why. We loved the crust stuffed with fresh ricotta and topped with... More

We had been in Italy for a week and only had mediocre pizza. FInally at a cooking class in San Donato, our teacher suggested we try Palazzo Pretorio for a good Neapolitan Style pizza. He was right. The pizza was great and the service was excellent. One word of caution, do make a booking. The place does get packed.

We stayed in San Donato for 4 nights and ate here for the 3 of them. The food was very good and reasonably priced as was the wine. The staff were really friendly and service excellent. Ideal if you are staying in the Malaspina.

We stayed in town so ended up visiting this restaurant 3 times. All the pizza's we had were delicious and the spaghetti lobster pretty decent too. The view is fantastic and the staff all very friendly. Best restaurant in town comfortably.

Very nice restaurant in the beautiful hilltop town of San Donato in Poggio. We were lucky enough to book a table for dinner on the elevated terrace for 6 adults. The location captured the wonderful atmosphere of the Chianti region and was the perfect selection for our first dinner out. The food was buonissimo and the service very friendly and... More

Me and my husband ordered our pizza! Within minutes we received a very black, extremely though and extremely salty pizza. Uneatable. As the waitress came to clean the table, she didn't even ask how we liked our meal. Zero for friendliness and professionalty.

Recently visited the Palazzo in San Donato which is not easy to find but really worthwhile to try it for lunch or. dinner. The restaurant is spezialized on seafood. We tried amongst others the camberony, the fried calmar and the mixed seafood platter. The last one in particular was excellent. The primo platti (carpaccio, gnocchi, spaghetti were also good. The... We decided to visit this restaurant after reading other reviews. It wasn't the easiest to find but glad we did. We didn't make a reservation the first visit so could only eat inside which was also lovely. We enjoyed our first visit so much we booked again but for a table on the terrace which is simply beautiful. This restaurant... More

Best pizza in the region ( the cook is from southern italy ), very good the fish ( considering also that we are not on the coast), great selection of wines. Dinner for couples. "Gran tegame" as apetizer: toasted garlic bread, mussles and squid....delicious. Then Pizza: one with pumpkin and bacon, very good match, and the other one with 4... More
