The outside rooftop terrace has an amazing view and sunset vista. Great ambience and the food was top shelf. We all had seafood, the tuna steak was excellent. Also took home a delicious pizza.

As soon as we stepped into San Donato we knew we landed upon a true medieval town. From there we discovered Palazzo Pretorio. The restaurant's ambiance fits perfectly into the medieval theme, very charming especially the walk down the alley and the terrace. The service was exceptional and reliable. The culinary experience was amongst the best during our Week stay... More

we checked into palazzo malaspina after an exhausting day touring and driving from cinque terre. we asked maria to direct us somewhere good to eat. so glad she sent us here. it was tucked down an alley so we may not have found it on our own. we ate outside on the lovely terrace overlooking the valley. all of the... We were told that the cook, (Luigi?) is a real artist. We were not disappointed. The pizza was the best I've ever had, and I have had a lot of pizza. The other dishes we observed coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled fantastic. It is worth a side trip to this lovely tiny medieval town located about halfway... More

When you are in a small village, San Donato in Poggio, you do not expect much, so I was blown away by this "fish" restaurant. If "fish" conjures up greasy fish and chips, then this is anything but. Yes, the service is not impeccable, but I do not speak Italian, so I did not expect that much. But the food,... More

I had a dinner here with a group of friends deciding to try their pizza. When We arrived inside the restaurant and checked their Menù, We saw lists of fishes cooked in different ways , crustaceans and seashells. So We changed our minds and all of us ordered their fish menù . Wow!!! Everything were delicious, fishes were fresh and... More

In Tuscany in the small village of San Donato in pogio is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in..out of the four nights I've been here i've eaten there two times and believe me I wouldn't have minded eating there every night. I had both the seafood and the steak ,both were delicious. The view ......I guess the... More

I really hope the reason for our poor service is a "two tier" approach from the staff, with the customers sat on the outdoor sunset terrace getting the best welcome. Our experience, sat indoors, was one of the less memorable meals we had in San Donato. Left waiting for about 30 mins until even the water arrived (we had to... More
