Shark Steak.... YUMMMMYYYYYY

The place is nice. Get your shoes off as the floor is white sand. Amazing location, right by the beach. There are some big granite stones close by, amazing for pictures. The staff is really nice. They serve creole food. I really enjoyed my dish, shark steak. First time i ate this. The side dishes... read more

Excellent location right on the beach. Staff were ok and the food was good, although a little pricey. Nice to see the old tortoises, but for pity's sake - give them a bigger pen. They looked really sad and had very little room to stretch their legs!

We are at Chez Batista whilst on holiday with friends. The meal was a creole buffet which was supposed to be served at one but was about half an hour late. They seat the whole Resturant before the food becomes available and then there are huge lines for the food. This is not just at this Resturant but at buffets... More

Pricey but worth it for the experience. Location and the food were both excellent. Driving from the north you will see a large billboard advertising Batista's but the restaurant is still several kilometres away. Another sign directs you to a left hand turn down a dirt road. Check out the turtles in a pen near the property.

Situated directly on Takamaka beach the location of this restaurant could not be more appealing. The presence of age-old giant turtles is a lovely bonus. The largely wooden restaurant is built in a nice tropical style with open access to the beach and beautiful sea views. We had lunch there and the food was very good. Prices are not cheap... More

the restaurant is located on my favourite beach on Mahe. Hence a must do. On the first day we had some a la carte food (too late for buffet lunch) and we were very disappointed. However, seeing and tasting the buffet the next day made up for it. It was yummy - fresh and food is good value for money.... More

We went here one evening after reading some good reviews about this place. The drive to it is a little spooky. When we got into the restaurant, we were the only ones there at 8 pm. We were not acknowledged or attended to for the first 10 minutes. After this, we enquired if they had any vegetarian dishes. She said... More

We went recently to a sunday buffet at Chez Batiste. I'm not sure weather to use the word appaling...but in any case it was close. Location is amazing on Anse Takamaka beach. So, the dissapointing food was a real turn-down. Basically all dishes were overcooked and pretty tough...except the garlic bread !! That was ok. Long queues for the buffet... More

This restaurant is more like a beach bar. The choice is very limited (I think there were only 3 mains), but in the end you will get good, 'homemade' food with an amazing view on the beach. As other reviewers mentioned, be prepared to pay hefty price for your lunch.

Every morsel they offered was immaculate. All natural, homemade, authentic, organic, very very fresh components. Very well pleased every single day of meals! All the fish was amazing, red snapper is a great and common choice.
