The food was excellent, spicing was done very well. The restaurant is located right on the beach and you just can't beat the setting. This place, like so many others that we dined at, really needs ceiling fans. If you don't pick the right table, expect to be very hot.

I have been coming to Chez Batista for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I just love the setting of the restaurant on the beach of the magical Takamaka bay. The enclosure nearby the restaurant with several giant tortoises over 200 years old is quite fascinating. I so enjoy the relaxed ambience of this gem of restaurant so... More

My family and close friends had the buffet lunch (on sunday) at the restaurant. The food is in abundance, and dishes cooked to perfection. Great place to try a variety of local dishes. The place is totally casual, with sand on the floor. Drink services were slow as it seemed they had few waitresses working on that day, and yet... More

I've been here a number of times since 2006 and even got married here in 2008. Going back for the famous "Sunday Buffet" after a few years away, it's notable that the food quality and variety seems to have slipped, the prices rocketed and the dining area has sprawled into the car park. It feels wrong to queue 20mins for... More

Beautiful setting on the beach. It is not much more than a glorified shack. The floor is sand so barefoot is encouraged. Fish is grilled in front of you. Nice fish too! Now for the bad bit - They load the menu price with 15% VAT and 5% surcharge. My kids had the prawns that came out at £40 a... More

After a first try a couple of month ago we decided to give it a second chance that time for the sunday brunch. We totally agree on the location, nice bay, nice blue water and white sand, but that can be found anywhere on the island. Back to the restaurant: - The staff is as rude as they were on... More

Just how better can it get !!!....... Situated on the beach, the thatched covered rustic restaurant at Takamaka Bay could have well been a prop out of one of Jack Sparrow's films, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' except that it is in the Seychelles Islands and it is very real ........ The simplicity of the restaurant blends with the immediate green... More

We just got back from the Seychelles. We had a very nice meal and cocktails at Batista. The restaurant is situated on a stunning beach. At the back they have tortoises. Please note that the restaurant is working only from 12:30 to 16:00p.m. In the morning they have breakfast, but it is only for the guest of the villa.

Arrived around 3 o'clock, on Friday, so it was just one table occupied. Don't know if reason was low season or the hour. I can just subscribe to other reviewers opinions regarding the view. It is beautifull, beatifull, beautifull !! Even after seeing the Intendance Bay every day, the neighbour beach in front of Chez Batista is great, with combination... More

Chez batiste is right on a fantastic beach at the south end of Mahe island. Menu during the week is typical local creole food, so if you like freshly caught fish, local curried anything and dollops of Pema sauce then this will be right up your street. Service is very typical Seychellois as well, I.e. aloof and unattentive but pleasant... More
