Good service and value

Lovely food, busy but happy atmosphere. Good size portions, food hot and fresh. Relaxing and enjoyed the meal with the family. Afterwards enjoyed buying a few bits I the shop and visiting the garden centre.

I've now been several times to this barn and each time I have to visit their restaurant. The food is so fresh and made to order which makes the experience all worth while! My favourite is the cheese and homemade chutney sandwiches. Which comes out more like a meal, very filling, lovely bread and great atmosphere! Fab all day breakfasts... More

We've been to Quex several times and have never been disappointed. The sausage sandwich with red onion marmalade, chips and salad doesn't sound like much but will satisfy the biggest appetite. The roast beef is melt in your mouth and the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake is delicious. The staff are very friendly but would book a table at weekends... More

My wife and I wanted a light lunch and Quex Barn proved to be ideal. Although we arrived just fifteen minutes before final orders - 2.45 pm - we received a warm welcome and told not to rush our choice. Both meals arrived in good time, well cooked and reasonably priced. However the usual £2.25p for soft drinks seems to... More

A nice place for lunch, a choice of seating inside and out, a reasonable menu and always some specials. The staff are always helpful and the food is good, with the added bonus of being able to buy good quality fresh food after you have had lunch.

Very varied menu and not too expensive. On my first visit the food was excellent, quickly served and hot. Sadly the next time I had to send back my chips as they were cold and rather soggy in texture.

Popped in for lunch, found a table sat down and waited. Ended up picking up menus and ordering at the counter. Staff were polite but seemed to lack basic customer service skills. More like pre programmed robots. They lacked empathy and were very monotone. Even the "enjoy your day" sounded scripted. Food was fabulous quality and portion sizes are huge!... More

Went for their take a way fish and chips. Fish is reasonable, chips different.... More like large wedges! Ok for a change from the usual fish shop fare but not sold on them yet. May try them again before I make a final decision. Only available Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 6 pm

Not cheap and not quick at peak times, but honest, fresh food. Before or after your food you can have a look around the farm shop, selling locally sourced produce. On a nice day, I prefer to sit outside and watch the chickens! Very pleasant staff, just not enough, hence the wait sometimes. Try and avoid peak times.

Went here yesterday for fathers day, had a most enjoyable meal including the vegetarian meal of which two were required. There was a very good Jazz band playing which we knew nothing about until we arrived. We were seated very quickly and did not have a long wait for the meal. It was very busy but we had booked. Lovely... More
