Having been to the Canterbury equivalent many times, my friends and I were really disappointed with the quality of the food and poor service. The Caeser Salad leaves were not crunchy (Cos) leaves, but looked like a salad bag of mixed leaves. The croutons oozed oil when chewed and I didn't see much in the way of parmesan shavings. The... We have visited quex barn for lunch on about 3 occasions and must say the food is of a good standard, all home produced and fresh. The main issue is that if it's busy and you are not able to sit in the main restaurant then it's not great, the tables are basically within the shop so feels like your... More

Terrific food, beautiful surroundings, didn't know what to expect, our first visit. Everything served was fresh, tasty and served with a big smile by our waitress, who was exceptionally busy.Ample portions, only one dessert ordered, but I could not resist the Panne Cotta, which was a delight. The barn is a delightful place to eat and visit the shop after, full... More

Great food, freshly prepared and with helpful and friendly staff. Have eaten here a number of time in the past couple of months and not been disappointed. If you are 'of a certain age' the two course lunches at £9.95 are great value - the same great food as the a la carte but just a limited selection

Waitress was slow in getting the sauces to go with the meal we had half finished before she bought them to the table. It is a gem of a find take friends and family as there is a chicken coup outside for... Quex Barn was recommended to us by friends as an ideal venue for my 60th birthday. We decided on a Hog roast for 60 family and friends. We were not disappointed - we had the upstairs room with the roast on the balcony. We were very fortunate with the weather and all our friends thoroughly enjoyed the hog roast which... More

We had been to a vintage fair at the museum & went over for breakfast. We had mackerel & poached eggs & the standard breakfast. It goes from standard to large to massive! As tempting as it is! Both were delicious with no complaints at all. Reasonably priced & nice rustic feel. We will be going back.

I was visiting museum and decided to have lunch, what a mistake, after telling the waitress 7 times what I didn't want, that's what arrived! So I never had any lunch as it was sent back. My husband ordered plain ham sandwich and they decided to throw on mustard, just dreadful. Bad service, horrible food, no customer service skills at... More
